Property has been completely renovated and upgraded. Restaurant has recently changed the menu. The dock facilities are in great shape. There are a couple of cottages for rent. Ice available and there is a bar area with snacks.
The Marina and Resort include Wreckers Restaurant, a pool, very clean showers and bathrooms ,villas for rent and a laundry for Marina guests. We have been coming to this marina since 1975. After the hurricanes destroyed the buildings they rebuild the resort and docks in 2017. What an improvement, but the same dock masters are still here Tredvill and LeRoy. And they know their business. Our boat is always safe here when we are away. We enjoy the happy hour and Greek food at the restaurant and love the friendly service there.
My family and I had a very nice stay at the marina, until our last day. We were heading out for breakfast around 9am when the housekeeper runs after us and says “check out is at 10am!” At first I was a bit confused since it’s not 10am, and why is she telling us this as we’re getting in the golf cart? I figured the front desk would let us know. Also 10am is pretty early, most places are 11am. Since we were the ONLY guest there my mom went to the office to ask for a late check out for 11:30am. The front desk lady told us it was fine since they weren’t expecting anymore guests for the day. So the housekeeper says very loudly to the front desk clerk “does Ms. Kelly know about this late check out?” Then as my mom is walking away from the office the housekeeper yells to her “don’t cut your eye at me!” I’m not sure where this woman - JUDY gets off by talking to guest this way that pay $480 a night plus a fee for the boat to stay at the marina. We are Bahamian, and respect everyone, and expect them to respect us in return. We’ve been coming to Spanish Wells for years because of the beauty of the island, and the people who are great at hospitality! Yet this woman - Judy sticks out like a sore thumb in my memory of Spanish Wells Yacht Haven. The rest of the staff were great, Donna our server at dinner, and Leroy & his brother. Judy needs to be retrained or let go. I am sick and tired of Bahamians ruining experiences and bringing down businesses because of their bad attitude!…
Not sure if this is the only marina in Spanish Wells. It served the purpose, but next time I will check for other options. Decent restaurant, nice villas, modest, well-maintained pool. No beach access, and nothing special of the view. There was sporadic problems with the power, so that's an issue. The dock itself was getting a bit long in the tooth. It's the kind that's getting splinter-y, so put on footwear when you get off your boat. All service people were nice and attentive to requests: restaurant, dock master and office manager. I didn't look in the villas around the pool, but they seem like they are among the nicer ones in Spanish Wells based on size and exterior views.
The premises have been built and fitted out to a high standard. Rooms and bathrooms are excellent. We were there in November 2017 and the Wi-Fi worked fine. They have a nice outdoor pool although we didn't try it.The restaurant wasn't open for breakfast, early in the week but both lunch and dinner were very good. Possibly the best french fries I have ever had.
