Great people, excellent services and the best breakfast selection! They keep the hotel clean and well aired. It’s located close to the 81 Exit making it to get and get out. Checking in and checking out is very easy.
The staff is very kind and personable, and they attend to your every need from check in to check out. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. William was amazing and expertly attended to a couple of maintenance requests that we had. And Jennifer and Samantha at the front desk were also wonderful and attended to our every need with such professionalism and kindness. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay at this hotel!
Unfortunately the other negative reviews were accurate. We stayed in room 321 over the weekend and it was filthy. Thankfully I had some disinfectant wipes on me to clean the surfaces. There was stuff splattered on the counters, walls, lamps, etc. Pretty gross. There was a huge splatter of something red over one of the beds. There were layers of dust in some areas as well. The room looked worn down and beat up. Just walking down the hall on the third floor gave you the impression that the hotel was worn down too because all of the doors looked really beat up. One door even had been chunks missing from the bottom of it. I’ve stayed at Doubletrees all over the world, and this hotel did not meet the standard I would expect for a Doubletree. The bathroom was small, but functional. The beds were comfortable. The room had dark grey walls and furniture though which did make the room seem pretty dark and dreary.…
After a glitch in the reservation system they said I was to arrive one day earlier. the rate went from $159 to $380. After a lengthy discuss they said the best they could do was to charge me $220.00. Then the room they gave I wouldn't spend $100 for. There was mold around the shower and gobs glue coming out of of the shower door hook. Here I was on my way to my home in Florida after Hurricane Ian and I received no concern or attempt to correct. Only after I pressed the issue did I get a half hearted attempt. I waited 7 days for the GM Margarita Aybar to call me but all I got was crickets.
We are staying at the Doubletree in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We just had a lovely and very delicious dinner in the on site restaurant. Our bartender, Brandon, has been very welcoming and attentive! He brought us our drinks and refills very quickly. My husband had the ribeye dinner and I had the salmon dinner. Both meals were delicious and prepared to our specifications. Delena, the chef, checked on us personally to make sure we had everything we needed and that our meals were prepared just as we liked! Both Brandon and Delena were friendly and solicitous of our needs. They made us feel at home and well taken care of after a long day on the road! We definitely recommend staying at this Doubletree and enjoying a meal in the restaurant!
Prepare for toilet overflows, phones were broken and you had to step over the toilet to get into the shower. Staffing was light, phone rang 50 times before someone picked up. The decore is new and fashionable but the bones of the facility are antiquated.
The bartender was more concerned about the number of hours he worked, the poor management staff, his responsibilities, etc. He spent more time complaining than waiting on the patrons. He spoke load enough for everyone seated at the bar to hear his complaints.
Great hotel as we were passing through Harrisonburg on way to Nashville. Very nice staff, yummy cookies and free coffee in the lobby. Comfy bed. quiet and clean spacious room. We were pleased with the service and would stay again.
I’ve always loved staying at Hilton’s because they’re usually clean, comfortable, and the staff goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This was the fourth Hilton hotel I’ve stayed at this year, I have a rewards account and Hilton Amex, I consider myself to be a very loyal customer. The first 3 hotels were nothing short of exceptional so I supposed my hopes were a little too high for the Harrisonburg Double Tree because boy was I disappointed. When we first checked in, we had a room attached directly to the pool area, just separated by a thin window and curtains that didn’t really close all the way. Zero sound barrier between that room and the screaming children in the pool. I guess that’s fine if you like the smell of chlorine and don’t want to get any sleep before 10pm. We got moved up to a new room on the second floor it was run down and had the lowest cleanliness standard of any Hilton I’ve ever seen. I thought cleaning measures were supposed to be more thorough since COVID, apparently I was mistaken. In the new room, the air conditioner vents were so disgusting and dusty, there’s no way they couldn’t have been cleaned within the last few months, the room was also pretty dark. Certainly not worth $160+ in my opinion, it might have been acceptable as a $50/night room. It didn’t seem to have bed bugs so I guess it has that going for it. If you love dust, breathing in chlorine, dark and rundown rooms, and management who doesn’t give a s*** this is the place for you. For the rest of you, I’d head on a little farther down the road.…
My family and I were on our way back from Tennessee and had been in the car for over 8 hours with a 4-year old and a 1-year old and decided we should stay over in Harrisonburg for the night. We were able to find a better rate on another site for the DoubleTree and booked a room. Since I was pretty tired, I didn't realize that I accidentally booked a nonrefundable room on the other site for wrong night. We made another booking for the correct night and went inside. Jason greeted us with a smile and, in seeing me chasing after my 4-year old (who had evidently been saving his energy during the 8-hour trip), offered us some cookies, which got his attention long enough for us to finish checking in. I then called the third-party company through which I booked the room for the incorrect night. I explained everything and asked whether a refund was possible. I was told that the hotel would have to agree to cancel the booking for the wrong night, and the third-party company would need to call the hotel and speak with someone to confirm the cancellation. Jason went out of his way to ensure the room for the incorrect night was cancelled and spoke with a representative from the company to convey the information they needed to issue me the refund. Our room was clean, quiet, close to I-81, and the staff were fantastic (mainly Jason, but everyone we passed or saw gave us a friendly smile). Jason is an asset and we are so grateful for what he did for us.…
