This hotel is really lovely and quaint, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and service all round, We stayed on a whim and requested a balcony room with view of the river. The room was on the smaller side but since they are build to accommodate the features of the mill, it had exposed posts and beams. Very nice furniture in the... More

We spent two nights in Damascus while attending a wedding. The Old Mill Inn is a quaint inn situated on the banks of the Whitetop Laurel RIver. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not a place for anyone looking for modern amenities. Enjoyed fresh baked goods for the breakfast that was included with our room.

Restored mill. Each room is unique in that they are built to accommodate the features of the mill. Our room had exposed posts and beams which added to the charm. Great breakfast, fresh fruit, baked goods and an egg casserole. Enjoyed drinks and cards by the pond in the evening.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay in Damascus so we could walk the Appalachian trail and ride our bikes on the creeper trail.i am so pleased that we stayed at the old mill inn. The girls at the front desk were cheerful and so helpful. They gave us great information. We ate in the restaurant... More

We had dinner here during a biking trip. And one of our group stayed here. This is a beautiful historic old building. And just love the view over the dam outside, especially at night. Our group consisted of 10 people and the. Restaurant was about 1/2 full. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive; however it took... More

My wife and I stayed here October 14, 2016 and we knew we had been misled by their website as soon as we walked in our room. We reserved a third floor room which are the smaller rooms at this inn but we had no idea how small. I stepped off the room and it was only 168 sq ft.... More

After taking a drive through the mountains, my fiance and I stopped in Damascus to eat. I looked at several places and read the reviews to help us decide. I thought the Damascus Old Mill had a lot of character but reviews for another restaurant were better. We walked into the other restaurant and stood for several minutes. No one... More

First, the cons: The restaurant was closed some of the days we stayed, so eating there was not an option. The TV in our room was old and the screen not big enough for these old eyes. The good parts: The included breakfast was wonderful, including eggs, fruits, yogurt, etc., etc. The dining room has a beautiful view over the... More

When we arrived in Damascus and checked into our rental property, we were ready to have a glass of wine (or a beer) and enjoy the cool temps and the waterfall from the outside deck. It was wonderful and highly recommend it to all who are in the area.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. A very professional and friendly staff who truly care about their clients. Rooms were both comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a variety of fruits, pastries, and breads. The setting is perfect for a weekend or longer.
