My husband and I are from Charlottesville and were married at the Clifton Inn at the end of March, 2013. The Clifton Inn was the first and only venue we looked at in person because we instantly knew we were in excellent hands. Immediately upon arriving at Clifton, we were treated with much care. The staff members are very professional...

My husband and I were just married at Clifton, and have nothing but positive things to say about the entire staff and grounds. Kaitlyn, the wedding coordinator, is superb. She was responsive to our multiple requests to customize the experience while keeping things within our budget. We rented the entire grounds for the weekend and the staff was extremely flexible...

My husband and I loved the warm hospitality, beautiful rooms and wonderful dining at the Clifton Inn. We enjoyed the Chef's Table experience very much - such innovative, delicious food served in a unique, kitchen-side environment. Everyone was very kind and made sure we had a wonderful time from the moment we crossed the threshold. I'm looking forward to our...

Hands down the best hotel / inn experience I've had. Came here for Valentine's dinner and stayed the night. Everyone there treated us with the utmost respect and hospitality. What sets Clifton Inn apart from others is that it is a very personalized experience from the moment you walk into your room to the moment you check-out. They work to...

We came down for a quick visit to see Darden and decided to stay at the Clifton on a last minute recommendation from a friend. I'm so glad that we did! After a long day of traveling and touring campus, we headed to the Inn to get settled and check-in. It was such a pleasant surprise, we were upgraded from...

Because we had experienced such a wonderful dinner at the Clifton Inn for Christmas, we chose the Inn for our Valentine's Day dinner. We were sorely disappointed, and offer the following comments: - Chilled lobster salad: We love lobster, steamed, boiled, or chilled, but we do not like raw lobster, which is what we were served, especially if it is...

My girlfriend and I had a memorable visit this past weekend. The highlight for her was receiving a free room upgrade. My highlight was dinner at the chef's table. The kitchen table is different from that of other Inns; the space is not shared with another party and its more of a sushi bar overlooking the work rather than a...

We were exploring several wineries and wanted to stay someplace with history. This was an excellent choice. We had dinner in the Restuarant. It was a bit pricey but the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the trout course and the desserts.

We just completed our fourth outing to the Clifton Inn - the first being the night after our marriage. There are very few places where you can get the ambience, the quiet natural pleasures of the hills outside Charlottesville, beautiful, spacious accommodations and the best darned meal you will find anywhere short of the Inn at Little Washington- and it...

The Clifton is a divine, aesthetically pleasing, & relaxing property. Our food, above all else, was simply marvelous. I reprimanded myself for not ordering the mixed green salad with house-made ricotta (I tasted my friend's & lamented). However, I recovered & forgot about all regret upon receipt of my brussel sprouts. The salsify with caviar was fantastic, as was the...
