We were so pleased to find this amazing historic B & B in the heart of Charlottesville. This is the historic home of Mr. Dinsmore, master carpenter at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. The home itself was beautiful and beautifully appointed and immaculately kept. We enjoyed our stay in the Madison Room. The location was perfect with easy walking access to historic...

This historic property is in a good location. The hosts did a nice job, parking is adjacent an easily accessed. The breakfasts were tasty and well served, the social hours (4pm to 7pm) were a fun way to meet other guests (wine and cheese included). The reason for the average rating is the rooms are in need of repair. There...

The Dinsmore House is just minutes away from the main part of the UVA campus, a short stroll to numerous restaurants, and near a trolley stop. The free trolley will take you to the pedestrian mall (about a 15 minute walk) and it is also a nice way to see a good part of the university campus without walking. The...

We had a nice weekend stay at the Dinsmore Inn and enjoyed most things, with the exception of our actual room. The owners were lovely; we enjoyed chatting with them, and the wine and cheese social in the evening was a nice bonus. The common areas are nicely decorated, and we enjoyed breakfast on the sun porch. And you couldn’t...

We had a two night stayed in the Virginia room at the Dinsmore B&B in Charlottesville to tour Monticello and the area. It was centrally located between the UVA campus and the historic downtown mall with a free trolley to take us around town. It was only a short drive to Jefferson’s Monticello home. The room had an upgraded shower...

My wife and I enjoyed a 4 night stay. The location is great; we walked around the beautiful UVA campus and to the historic downtown mall. A free trolley is also very handy and nice. Our drive to Monticello was short and easy. The innkeepers, Bill and Sherrie, were the biggest factor in our very positive rating. They prepared a...

We had a two night stay at the Dinsmore. The Innskeepers - Bill and Sherry 0 were excellent. They were knowledgeable, friendly, hosted a wine and cheese from 4:00 to 6:00 and were very accommodating. Bill prepared the two breakfast meals and the food was tasteful and excellent. One only concern was staying in the Library Room which had limited...

Shared parking & workout facilities wereconvenient for our needs. We were welcomed by their two wonderful innkeepers, Bill & Sherrie. The Inn Keepers at the Dinsmore House Inn are what make this Bed and Breakfast an exceptional place to stay while in Charlottesville. My wife and I enjoyed our 45th wedding anniversary at this centrally located 19th century home with its secure parking garage, warm social hour, deliciously prepared gourmet breakfasts, homemade cookies in the evening and quaint 19th century...

We had an excellent stay at the Dinsmore House. Upon check in, the incredibly friendly innkeepers upgraded us to a beautiful suite. They told us all about the history of the building and have done an amazing job maintaining the historic beauty. Our room was excellent. The proximity to UVA and the downtown pedestrian mall was ideal and only a...
