We visited DD who lives in Charlottesville Very good experience, excellent value for amenities, breakfast too good to go to local famous bagel shop, nice inside pool which we didn't take advantage of but would be great with kids, We visited several wineries in the area and would not hesitate to return to English Inn.

Rooms were bare minimum. Furniture was dated and uncomfortable. Housekeeping was irregular and didn't actually clean well when they did come. Coffee maker was never cleaned, trash not emptied, towels left on the counters, etc. Toilet was broken and shower head was rusty and dirty. Coffee in the dining room was not good. However, bed was comfortable and location was...

Clean, Friendly & Fair Priced. Very convenient to town, Royes 250, 29 and Shopping/Restaurants. First time visitor to this property. If you are not spending too much time other than for sleeping; I would suggest it if you are budget conscious. Included breakfast not very good - only used first of 3 mornings. Staff very friendly.

Whenever I travel south from New England, I always use the English Inn in Charlottesville as my halfway stay. This hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient, and knows the area very well, offering great ideas for things to do or great restaurants to visit. As well, they offer one of the best breakfast buffets...

This hotel has been my go to place for over 40 years. Since I go to Charlottesville quite often English Inn is an important resource for me. The staff is friendly and there are never any surprises. The full, hot breakfast buffet is far beyond the usual included breakfast. For value and consistency, and even a market with plenty of...

Have stayed at The English Inn on several occasions while a family member was being treated at UVA. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, beds are very comfortable and the breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious! Will definitely choose The English Inn whenever visiting Charlottesville!

The staff checked me in earlier than scheduled when they learned that I had long flight coming in to Charlottesville with delays and all. They also assisted in finding the nearest Catholic Church where I can attend Mass.

I had an exceptional experience with the staff and was only there to sleep with very busy days elsewhere. Definitely needed a snack bar or store - I arrived at midnight and desperately needed some forgotten sundries and food.

Recently travelled to Charlottesville for a UVA basketball game. Only stayed one night, but my wife and I have stayed there many times. We think highly of the facility and the staff and frequently rave about it to friends and family. All things considered, there is not a better hotel in the Charlottesville area. The price is very reasonable.
