My husband and I stayed here for a random (and much needed) last minute, end-of-summer getaway. There were only 2 cabins left when we decided to make the trip, and we were so happy that Ayita was one of them! We were thrilled to enter an immaculately cleaned home with cozy decorations and wonderful porches. (Loved the ability to "check-in"...

After staying at several properties that New River Retreat manages it has become clear that this company has no interest in it's guest only it's owners. Most of the cabins are out dated and have lots of plumbing, HVAC, and various other problems that show that the homes are not taken care of. The worst experience was the last in...

We stayed 3 nights at the Ayita cabin in July. Please make sure that you read all of my review. On the website it says that you have to drive on a 1/2 mile of gravel road to get to the cabin, also that if you go in the winter you need 4 wheel drive. Both my husband and I...

We rented Red Hawk Rising in 2013 for our daughter's VT graduation and enjoyed it so much we rented again for the spring 2016 graduation. This time, we decided to take what was a wonderful three-day stay in '13 and make it into a week long family vacation. This also helped make sure we got our booking before the one-year-out...

Had a great time here. It was secluded and very quiet. Listening to the river at night was very relaxing. The Blue Moon cabin has everything you could need including speakers through out, games, movies, books, grill and kitchen stocked with dishes, cookware and utensils. We can't wait to go back.

NRR was recommended to us from the Claytor Lake State Park's receptionist who said they were closed for the season so we couldn't rent a cabin there. What a lucky break! We rented the Seven Springs cottage. It sat on its own private tiny pond and was surrounded by woods connected to a beautiful trail walk. Our two dogs loved...

The staff at NRR were so accommodating from the beginning to end of the rental process. Panther Creek Cabin had everything we needed for a long relaxing weekend. The cabin was perfect and we hated to leave. We will definitely rent from NRR again.

We very much enjoyed their Red Hawk Rising property. We have a large adult family and were all in town for my sisters graduation from Virginia Tech. Red Hawk was spacious and gorgeous. They have a few weird rules and basically require you to purchase insurance, but even with that we would visit again. We loved being in the same...

My wife and I stayed at Morning Mist for our honeymoon. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The whirlpool tub was nice, as well as the fireplace. The view was great. We saw deer every night in the front yard. The property is pet friendly and it's a perfect place to bring your dog. We will be returning for sure.

I truly enjoyed my time here! We stayed at the Yona Mountain Lodge and it was beautiful. The only problem I had with the house itself was the chandelier above the dining room flickered constantly and the bathroom door for one of the rooms didn't close all the way. If you need some sort of connection to the world, the...
