Went with a group to Wilgus. The cabins and campground are well maintained it's spacious and scenic. Right along the Connecticut River, at Weathesfield and Ascutney. The staff is very helpful. It has good bathrooms and amenities. Convenient to Windsor I'd recommend to families and anyone seeking a campground in the southern Vermont area.

My brother and I were looking for a place to do some weekend camping and canoeing with the families and came across Wilgus. If you are looking for a KOA-type campground with an arcade, swimming pool, etc., this is not for you. If, however, you are looking for a quiet campground where the sites are not crammed together and you...

Friendly atmospshere, beautiful surroundings and clean facilities. Nice level wooded sites for tent camping. Easy access to the river for kayaking/ canoeing. This is a smaller park/campground which we really enjoyed.

This is just a real nice park. As a young man worked at a Vermont state park that had a real sharp park manager. This park has one too. The people here are on top of things. Nice clean and well run. This park has an old time park feel. Vermont has the best firewood in the east and the...

We were welcomed by friendly ranger and staff. Stayed at beautiful leanto site right on the river. Handy launch ramp for canoes and kayaks. Best kayak rental in the area. Great location to stay and visit other attractions. Vt State Park campground tag gets you into any other park during your stay.

Really helpful, friendly Ranger on site and as with all Vermont State Parks, it's kept really clean and tidy, sites, bathrooms, facilities etc. Wood and ice are available at the Ranger station and they will deliver the wood. The pavilion at the office/Ranger Station has tables and wifi, also an electric outlet to charge up a tablet, phone or computer...

The serene Conn. river is right there for swimming and canoeing. You can enjoy the views and campfire while not being "away" in the woods. This is not on a mountain and there are other people nearby but you can enjoy camping with clean, well lit accessible facilities on the premises. Ascutney is nearby (10-15) min. drive for hiking and...

Stumbled upon this campground 4 years ago and make sure we visit there at least once a year. We like that it is small and quiet and has clean restroom facilities and showers. The Ranger and the rest of the park staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We love that you can launch your kayaks from the...

My husband and I recently went to Wilgus State Park for a weekend camping trip. We reserved the Osprey cabin, one of four cabins in the campground. All of the cabins are along a relatively short stretch of the campground along the Connecticut River. While the Mink and Otter cabins seem to have a bit more of a buffer between...

“Eagle/Osprey cabins are great to reserve together for a group; Mink and Otter are slightly more secluded.”
