This was our second time staying with Bill and Patti in their home for an overnight on our way home. You feel at home right away. Friendly and welcoming, Bill and Patti are as down-to-earth folks as you will ever meet--sincere, happy to share their life experiences with you to encourage you and interested in your life's experiences too. Want...

After arriving in the evening following a business trip around Southern Vermont, I was met by Patti and Bill and their longtime guests to a warm conversation in the kitchen complimented by a velvety apple pie. Feeling at home within minutes, I relaxed into the farmhouse and slept peacefully, tucked under a puffy comforter and resting on a plume of...

A lovely place for any time of year but especially in the fall. No pretentions, just a working family farm tucked away on a Vermont backroad with a beautiful rustic setting. Beautifully clean and comfortable and a place you would definitely want to come back to. The hosts were laid back, very warm and welcoming. The breakfasts were wonderful. The...

This is a place like no other Patti & Bill are such warm hearted folks who make you feel so genuinely welcome. The bedrooms are warm and comfortable. Breakfast time is fun with baked apples grown on the farm and plenty of other various dishes. They told us all about the making of maple syrup on the farm which was...

This B & B is really like being an invited guest in a friend's home. We had a lovely room in the main building with a comfortable bed, great towels and comfy carpeting, little details that you miss in many B & Bs. The hosts were very welcoming and warm, they grow much of their food and process maple syrup...

Lovely welcome from Patti as well as hugs goodbye. Room had own sitting area, shared with one other bed room but made welcome in main house with huge lounge and dinning area. Got lots of stories from Patti about the area and her farm. May not have suited those who are looking for an impersonal quiet holiday but was up...

If you are looking for peace and tranquility you can't go wrong. Quiet country setting in the hills of S. Vermont. We have been there twice now and are looking forward to going back. If you just want to relax then you will not be disapointed.

We spend two nights at the farm while in Vermont for my son's graduation from Bennington. Such a nice respite to be out of the hustle, bustle and to end each day peacefully playing cards or on a country road walk and start each with a hardy breakfast that included specially prepared gluten-free for me. It was my third trip...

We had a great stay in one of the efficiency units in the carriage house last June. This year we brought friends with us, and they could not have been happier. Patti and Bill start breakfast each morning with warm baked apples topped with ice cream, then move on to the main course. Comfortable breakfast room with blooming orchids and...

My husband and I spend two nights at the Shearer Hill Farm B&B and it was a lovely, relaxing experience. Our apartment was cozy, clean, and comfortable. We were able to watch Bill, Patti, and gang gather the maple sap and then watch Bill boil the sap to make the maple syrup. He was so patient as he explained the...
