We stayed for New Years and had a really nice time. Dinner was expensive but worth it. Service in the restaurant and Pub was good and breakfast was excellent. I had read a lot on trip advisor about the resort fee which is expensive and i am not sure what the resort fee is for because all activities had a...

My wife and I honeymooned at The Hermitage 20 years and recently returned for our 20th wedding anniversary. Of course things change over that expanse of time; the prior owner McGovern had passed away, real fire places swapped out for gas, and the fresh poultry and other home raised livestock are gone. But these were not changes for the worse....

My girlfriend and I had stayed here previously on a romantic getaway and had a great time. So, when I was planning the engagement, the Hermitage was the first choice. And I was more than happy with the result. The staff was absolutely awesome. They worked hard to accommodate every request I had and were very patient with me calling...

This is a beautifully restored inn with a wonderful dining room. Food was just delicious! Rooms in the main building are lovely but VERY noisy as they are over the bar and dining room. Be sure not to book those unless you want to be kept awake til early a.m. with noise from the downstairs.

The most comfortable room we stayed in on our whole New England trip. Really friendly staff, fantastic breakfast (good value at $10), great games room, lovely restaurant. The location is beautiful with great local walks. We booked the Couples Retreat which was good value, $511 total for two nights with taxes, dinner one night, bottle of good quality wine, great...

Top notch location, staff, chef, etc.... Stayed 2 nights for wedding this past weekend. Vermont is not just for skiing. Weather was perfect. Rooms and restaurant get very high ratings. I would recommend the Hermitage for any and all purposes.

The service is impeccable yet friendly and the Pub/Bar is a wonderful pace to enjoy current friends and to make new ones. The main dining area is beautiful and the food is varied and well prepared. This is the place to stay when you're in the Dover, VT area. The staff couldn't be more attentive, the rooms and baths couldn't be cleaner, there is turn down bed service and lots more! When we arrived at our room, there was soft music playing and a personal note from the InnKeeper to welcome us! Both the Pub and...

First off, the Inn is in a beautiful remote setting, definitely something we were looking forward to. We had purchased our stay through "Groupon" and thought we had secured a great deal and were very much looking forward to our stay. Apon arrival, we were told that our "suite" was not on site, but rather a few miles down the...
