A great family spot. A+ for food. A+ for activities. A for service. Stayed in twp different rooms - one room at the homestead/penfield place, was a neat original building on the property, the room was quaint, albeit a little worn. Give it a B-Second room was a studio cottage. Exceeded expectations. Much more comfortable bed than the first and...

What a glorious weekend Labor Day was this year! These guests enjoyed the property, and we're happy that they appreciate places like ours. Thank you! Sincerely, Pennie Beach Fourth Generation Host

This inn is right out of 1960s - or before - which can be charming. We stayed in the main building in a small room - but it was fine since we really didn't spend much time there. Kids loved the lake, bouncing on the trampoline, swimming - also, loved the warm pool. It was surprising how lax any safety...

We're glad to know you enjoyed your weekend with your kids. We apologize for the poor service you received at dinner - we don't blame you for being annoyed. The rooms in the Lodge are indeed small, as it is an historic building. Try the cottages next time - you'll find them larger and perhaps more comfortable with kids in...

Our first real family vacation this summer kicked off with a return call from Chef Juan Carlos (when does THAT ever happen?) acknowledging my fears and concerns about resort dining meeting my daughters very recent food allergies. Not only did he call me back with a very reassuring message saying he and his staff would do whatever was necessary, but...

We had two studio cottages reserved for our family, the studio cottages with two queen beds look so updated and fresh in the photos. These units are not cheap at over $400 per night. When we arrived in our cottages we were hit with mold and our noses started running. We ended up spending the next several hours with many...

We regret that this family found the accommodations that we had available unacceptable. As you will see from other guests' comments, this is not the customary reaction. We are glad to know that they enjoyed the rooms in the Harbor Homestead that they selected. There are many guests who return year after year, and they are generally the ones who...

This is a very unique place and I'd highly recommend especially for active families who are looking for some time together in what feels like a place where time moves more slowly. The setting is stunning, on the shore of Lake Champlain. The property itself is a bit rustic, but the uniqueness is in the way you are welcomed and...

This resort has beautiful grounds and golfing was great. We stayed at the Homestead House. The room was big but smelled of mold and mildew. The air conditioner clicked on/off all night and we did not sleep! Our sinuses were quite messed up that morning also due to the musty smell. It was a big disappointed for the price and...

We are sorry to learn that these guests were unhappy with their room. We can't fix things after people depart - it's always a good idea to let the property know during your stay when you are not happy with something. We're glad they enjoyed the golf experience. Beautiful course but greens needed help. Wonderful weather the date we played. Lake Champlain breezes, Challenging and enjoyable. Friendly, helpful staff - good day for all. Hot dogs at outdoor grill. Will return when possible.

We've visited twice in the last six years, and if you are looking for a classic, traditional family vacation or reunion, this is the perfect spot. The cabins are frankly nothing to write home about, but if you are looking for a luxury hotel and you find yourself in rural Vermont, you're doing it wrong. The attractions here are the...

This is an extraordinary place. The service, food, amenities and views are all spectacular. But, and you have to sympathize, the maintenance of the old place is so huge that they really don't seem to be able to keep it up the way you wish they could! It's got to be a huge challenge to keep this venerable old resort...

This is a beautiful resort right on the lake. Views are beautiful and my little cottage was cozy and clean. There are lots of fun activities for all ages. The food was amazing! It is a beautiful ride through the mountains to get here. I cannot wait to go back!
