We travelled to Vermont from York, England and stepped into this wonderful, peaceful and elegant resort. The views are breathtaking, the lake is beautiful and we just loved how the whole place is set up for families to spend real quality time together. I was sad to see the reviews which commented that the club was dated. It is not...

We stayed here for a conference. The golf course is very nice and well maintained. However, the hotel public rooms and areas are definitely sub par. Much of the outside wood stairs and landings were overly weathered and appeared, in some cases to be rotten. The furniture inside the lobby, restaurant and public areas was old, worn and, frankly, tacky....

We regret this guest's impression that Basin Harbor Club is run down. She/he arrived just after a weekend of pelting rain and high winds, the likes of which we haven't seen since Irene. It takes wood surfaces a while to dry out thoroughly after that sort of event. Walkways and decks are constructed of pressure treated wood which develops checks...

The Basin Harbor Club is a gem. The property has beautiful views of Lake Champlain, as well as great restaurants and amenities. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin with family, which has everything we needed for several nights. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were a bit outdated but clean, and the kitchenette and family room allowed us to...

Basin Harbor is a family run resort with a world class golf couse, a great lake (Lake Champlain), beach, pool, movies, boats to rent, waterski fun, fishing, beautiful rooms, breakfast, lunch and dinner, a landling strip--what more could you want? Not a thing.

We had a chance to spend a week at basin harbor over labor day weekend week. It was a wonderful experience with great food and activities. The kids program is amazing, with activities morning, noon and night if interested. We found most of the staff to be helpful and accommodating, though it was evident they were looking forward to the...

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a coach tour of New England in the Fall. Would have loved to have stayed longer to appreciate the area more fully. This is a wonderful hotel although it was getting towards the end of the season and staff were starting to appear jaded. Our rooms were cabins dotted around the...

I had a terrific stay with extended family at the Basin Harbor Club. The place is beautiful - the grounds, the buildings, the setting are all breath-taking. The entire resort has a sort of faded elegance I actually get a kick out of - old money stays here (not referring to myself). Lots of blue blazers, khaki trousers and gin...

How nice that this extended family enjoyed their time together at Basin Harbor this summer. Actually, several cottages do have jacuzzi tubs, but the guest is correct that kids have a blast with all there is to do. We're sorry they did not have a good experience at the Red Mill, but glad to know they enjoyed the food and...

We stayed here as part of a tour of New England. We were mainly disappointed to be put in the attic rooms of the lodge rather than a cabin - single beds and limited ceiling height for anyone over 5'4". The grounds were lovely and game facilities were good. I have never been served so quickly in a restuarant in...

We were so sorry to learn of this guest's unhappiness with the room and speed of food service after the fact (we closed for the season on October 21st). The guest didn't mention whether s/he had asked to be moved to another room or cottage, but we'd have been glad to show alternate accommodations if they were available. It is...

We stayed here one night on a hiking trip through Vermont and loved the place. The "room" was a cabin immediately adjacent to the lake with its own deck, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a small living area with fireplace. The grounds were lovely and immaculately cared for, decorated for Halloween with lots of pumpkins. The dining room is semi-formal...

As part of the bridal party for a couple who choose to marry here, I had no choice but to stay at the Basin Harbor Club. We deeply regret the angst our mistake caused. Our desk clerk inadvertently handed the wrong registration materials to this guest - same last name, different first name and address - who signed the form but didn't call our attention to the mistake. We understand how that can happen as people are often tired from the journey and don't quite pay...
