Harmony. A simple word that captures the essence of what makes Trapp Family Lodge and resort such a special place. Here in Stowe, Vermont you'll discover so many different experiences, activities and opportunities to enjoy your mountain escape. And yet all this remarkable variety - hiking, swimming, tennis, birding, cross-country skiing, meetings, weddings, an indoor spa, and more - lives in perfect harmony. A vacation here will leave you rested and refreshed. Recharged and reconnected. But most importantly, it will remind you of what's truly important. A magnificent 2,500 acre resort managed by the family that inspired The Sound of Music, this New England treasure is the perfect place for your next vacation. A little of Austria. A lot of Vermont.

I can't wait to return to the Trapp Family Lodge! The X-C ski trails are just beautiful, and so nicely groomed. To have The Cabin as a destination makes it even more fun. The whole experience is simply magical.

We stayed in the Austria Suite, which was spacious, very comfortable, and had amazing mountain views. Customer service was excellent in all departments - housekeeping, front desk, dining room. On-site dining was excellent; great menu and wine selection. Nordic skiing in the

A wonderful place to visit. Unmatched views of the surrounding valley, easy access to cross-country and snowshoe trails, and variety of dining options make it easy to return here again and again. The rooms are very clean and well appointed and are decorated in traditional decor.

Dear Navigator, Thank you for your comments and for staying at Trapp Family Lodge! We will review our vegetarian options at the Lodge, we currently have a Winter Squash Red Curry, a Turnip Vichyssoise and several salads, but we also provide vegetarian specials and of course special requests. We hope to see you back soon.

Stayed in a guest house with my wife and 9 week old son and the accommodations were exactly what we needed to be able to travel as a family and still be comfortable with the demands of a newborn. From check-in to check-out the staff was on point. Since we were staying in a

I would recommend just taking a stroll down the road and to the wedding meadow. If you turn right out of the lodge, the wedding meadow road is on the left. Amazing views and wheelchair accessible. Enjoy!

We have stayed at all levels... there all good, but if one of you likes to get up much earlier that the other it's nice to have a second room not to disturb the sleeping partner. As to views you can choose (1) Roadside shows valley and distant mountains... sometimes very nice with sunset, or mists. (2) Backside looks out on the nearby trees (3) Side takes in a bit of both and looks out on the nearby fields. Both restaurant and lounge eating areas are fine, but the best is the restaurant by the windows. I would take the top floor since the elevator can be used by you handicapped partner. Our favorite is to hike, snowshoe to the cabin in the back woods, if one of you is still active. Enjoy !

The Trapp Lodge is very accommodating to handle any concerns you have if you work out the details prior to your stay. As far as I know most units have been updated in Village 1 and 2. If you are staying in the Villas they are newer units where the timeshare/guest house buildings are older but quite nice. From your question not sure where you are staying for you visit. I have been going up there for 30 years and find it quite refreshing.

Can you walk into the downtown area of Stowe and if not, how far is the drive?
Good morning Joe. Main Street, Stowe is located about 4 miles from Trapp Family Lodge on well traveled roads. Traveling by car takes about 10 minutes (depending on traffic in town). There is a bike / pedestrian path that you may pick up to take you to town as well. The trailhead for this path is located 2 miles from our doors. There is a parking area at this trailhead. We hope to welcome you to Trapp Family Lodge soon!
