Excellent atmosphere and service. Beautiful rooms with modern conveniences. Very good location, easy to get around and much to see and do. Nice bar, good food. ....so now I'm just typing to get the 200 character minimum required to post a review. Maybe more people would say a few

Outstanding hotel, staff and grounds. Rooms were very well-appointed, clean, and decorated. We enjoyed the large entry area, the library, and the ever-present dogs! Audubon artwork was plentiful and beautiful.

Had NO complaints whatsoever and stayed as long as we could.

We stayed at Kimpton on our first trip to Vermont. The hotel was everything we expected, and more! We loved using the bicycles to check out the area. The wine happy hour was a lovely surprise. Every night we enjoyed relaxing by the patio fire pit. The staff was very helpful. Porc

Stayed here again going on our 3rd or 4th time. Room was good, bed comfortable and bathroom clean with good shower. Only concern we had were all the dogs, especially at the social hour. There were a few dog alterations that were not pleasant. Anyone allergic to dogs or fearful of

We just got back from a quick getaway to this resort for my husband and I's anniversary. We have stayed at 5 Kimptons (one we have visited several times) and we have to say this is by far our favorite. The hotel is stunning and offers a very relaxing atmosphere. Our favorite p

I’m reading some reviews about the dog situation at this hotel. Currently pregnant and like to sleep in, am I really going to experience dogs barking and running around at all hours of the day/night?
I did not overstate our experience. Dogs were permitted throughout the hotel and we encountered them in all the common areas. Complaints to the hotel staff and even the response from management posted on my comments here confirmed the policy to favor the wishes of dog owners over the safety of guests. I doubt being pregnant would get you any extra consideration. I would caution you under the circumstances you mentioned.

We are driving up from NYC early Saturday morning and want to get a full day of skiing in that first day before checking in. Can you let me know what ski resorts are more “on the way” from NYC as it looks like most are further North? We are both fairly advanced skiers.
I recommend you drop your bags at the hotel and continue on to ski at Bromley. Full disclosure--I grew up skiing at Bromley and prefer it to the crowds and more intense skiers at Stratton. It offers variety and has more challenging terrain is on the east side which is more limited than at Stratton but the mountain is easy to access and a shorter drive, less costly ticket than at Stratton. If you have two days to ski, I suggest you start at Bromley the day you drive up and then head to Stratton the next day if you want to compare. Stratton has a long access road to get to the base.

What are the golf options nearby?
Dear Jay, Thank you for considering staying with us at Kimpton Taconic Hotel. We have two options for golf in the area. The Equinox Country Club is located just a hop, skip and a jump from our front door. You could walk there from here or take your car as it's less than a 3 minute drive. We also secured a unique partnership with the Manchester Country Club. This is a private course. This course is located just 3 miles from the hotel. To find out more about either option please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly at 802-362-0147. Thank you Warmest Regards, John Burnham General Manager

My wife is not a skier - we plan on visiting the week between Christmas and New years - what are the options for her to do while the kids and I are on the slopes? I chose local to Manchester with the hope that there would be some sort of amenities or things to do......thanks
Dear Future Guest, There are many different indoor/non-skier activities in the area. Of course there is Outlet shopping but there are also several great boutique stores that include Vermont made products. The Northshire Bookstore is a staple when traveling to the area. Visit HiIdene, the Robert Todd Lincoln Estate which includes tours of the historic estate, a restored Pullman's car and their goat farm. Southern Vermont Arts Center displays national and local artist in many mediums. Learn to blow glass at Manchester Hot Glass. All these and many more unique experiences are within a mile of the hotel. If you want to be outdoors but don't like to ski, strap on some snowshoes, hitch a ride on a sleigh, ride to your hearts content on a snowmobile or take a leisurely hike to the base of Mount Equinox located right behind the hotel. Hope to see you soon. Warmest Regards, John Burnham General Manager

Hello, I see your beautiful hotel looks pet friendly. I wonder if there are any rooms and areas where pets are not allowed to go due to my allergies of dogs and cats. Thank you
Dear Future Guest, Thank you for reaching out to us at Kimpton Taconic Hotel. I totally understand your situation and I am glad you have asked the question. You are correct, we are a pet friendly hotel. As such we want all of our guests, two legged and four, to be comfortable and enjoy themselves. In order to accomplish this, we have designated pet-free rooms for our guests. Our furry friends are allowed in most all other locations but our restaurant and seasonal pool area, unless they are a service animal. I truly hope you consider staying with us but certainly understand if you are looking for a totally pet free option. Thank you Best Regards, John Burnham General Manager
