I stayed at Happy Bear in August for motorcycle rally, so not ski season or heating season. Owners were friendly, helpful, hospitable. Motel is old, but that's both good and bad: Mattress was lumpy and I could feel springs; hot water spigot in bathroom didn't work. But the windows open and close, how wonderful! Especially important because housekeeper sprays LOTS... More

Stayed in February for a concert at The Pickle Barrel, directly across the street so we did not have to drive (or find a dd after cocktails) and several places within walking distance to have dinner. Not fancy but clean and impressed our room even had a mini fridge!

We had a great weekend up at Killington. The Happy Bear Motel was a very convenient location to all of our destinations throughout the weekend. It is located right on the access road and we were able to walk to a few restaurants or drive only a short distance. This motel is a bit outdated and you can hear everything... More

Definitely nothing fancy. Stayed in a double room. The hotel itself is dated (would rate a 2 star) but the room was extremely clean. I thought the bed and pillows were decent. The owners were friendly and we did not experience additional charges. The location is good if you want nightlife. The pickle barrel is directly across the street along... More

My friends and I booked a room here and did not realize how poor the motel was based on their pictures. The beds had no support, the shower had no hot water and all electric appliances were decrepit. While checking out, the manager started adding excessive charges for broken appliances that were not broken at all ( we even showed... More

The motel is well-located for skiing in Killington, and quite cheap by Killington standards, but the rooms are quite small and only contain the basics listed. The bed wasn't very comfortable so we didn't sleep that well. Breakfast was what you'd expect in a cheap motel. The Hillside Inn is better and about the same price.

Hey Its a motel, you go there with low expectations. It was low priced, clean, and accommodating. Perfect for a stopover on our way eastward. Looks like a good Killington stop if your A real SKIER, and are too tired to care about whether or not your bath towel is made of 100% combed cotton.

After an unpleasant stay in Lancaster, NH, I decided to change my route home. I was looking for a place near the junction of I-93 and I-89 so I chose Killington. I didn't realize that it would me more off the beaten path than I expected, but such is life. When I arrived, I was a little worried about having... More

I've stayed here twice and I always have a very good experience. Pro's- The staff are lovely folks and extremely accommodating, so if you need something just ask. I've only stayed in a single bed room. It was clean in all the right places, very spacious, with fantastic heating units. Clean filtered water for bathing and washing. ( No mineral... More

Listen. It was by far the cheapest in the area. It was freezing out and the rooms were toasty. Owners were friendly. Bathroom was clean. It did have a strong odor of cleaner when I checked in, but I aired out the room and it improved. Location is perfect for the drinker. Okay, the continental was lacking, but for Pete's... More
