I have come here on/off for years. This motel is right by Smugglers Notch Ski area which means any reasonably priced motel is unheard of. However, the Deer Run is reasonable to the point of surprise. It is a nice quiet location. The Rail Trail which is a beautiful spot running alone the Lamoille River is right across the street....

We stayed one night here. It is very much an old fashioned budget hotel. That said it was clean and everything although old was serviceable and worked well. There is a lot of noise from the road once daylight but it was quiet at night. We were warmly welcomed by a very helpful host. Wifi is included but is very...

Four guys on motorcycles stayed here for 1 night. When we pulled in the first thing we noticed was how run down the place looked. The front step onto the landing to get into the office was a couple of concrete blocks. It also appeared that this place puts up long-stay tenants, either workers or families. Rooms themselves weren't bad,...

A couple of my friends and I came up for a week in March to ski at Smuggs, and stayed here the whole time. The owner, Rich, is a great guy, a man who is very respecting, accommodating, and friendly. With no problem, he set up our room to accommodate our needs, and made it clear to just call the...

I used to live in the Deerrun, during my 2 plus years working at smuggs in the 1990's. It took me a while to write a review, since in the 90's i didnt have computer and i came across this site and just had to write something. Rich, the owner, is truly a man with heart, patience, and love to...

My friend and I moved to vermont for our winter break. We worked at the local ski resort and lived at the deer run. We had an incredible time and attribute a large amount of our joy to our time at the deer run. Rich, the man who handles the place, is by far the nicest person I have ever...

It took me a while to write this review, so while I noted I traveled in July 2014, we actually traveled there in July 2013. My fiance and I had traveled all day from Haliburton, Ontario to northern Vermont. We had a reservation at a campsite. Well, when we arrived at the campsite they had no record of our reservation....

Let me start with the pros...Rich, the owner, was kind enough to allow us to change our reservation w/o charging us a fee. Also, our bathroom, towels and sheets were clean. The a/c unit worked just fine. Cons...all the carpets need to be ripped out due to stains, urine and smoke smells. The upholstered furniture needs to be brought to...

I've been in my share of worn out, dated resorts and motels. Many have had their charm make up for it. This one didn't. Dirty stairwell, the hallway was creepy, and the flies on the wall made me feel like Amityville was behind the door. I thought they would just hang out on the wall as they didn't seem to...

If this place were anywhere away from a resort, it would be a lot cheaper and then it would be worth the money. I spoke to a nice woman on the phone who left the keys in an envelope for us. Unfortunately, there was no note on it. The entryway smelled heavily of cigarettes and the stairs up to the...
