How better to describe the Dorset Inn than the "Quintessential Vermont Inn". From the minute you are greeted as you walk through the front door and escorted to your charming room to the cozy living area with a fireplace to a choice of 2 dining rooms both with fireplaces for dinner, it is wonderful. This was our 6th year returning... More

A very old inn nicely restored and well decorated. Rooms very nice but nothing special. And expensive for what you get. We had a suite. A small window unit did a poor a/c job on the warm, humid nights we experienced. Breakfast made to order, good and complimentary. If you are in the Dorset/Manchester area, this is a nice choice.

We're not quaint old inn groupies, so have only limited comparative expertise. This inn struck us as what you would expect, and if you start from that base, you'll enjoy your stay. Our initial greeter was somewhat gruff, but all others at the inn were very pleasant. The Town Green setting is perfect. We had breakfast sitting on the porch... More

We did not stay at this inn but had dinner there and had a terrific meal. Great service for pre-theater dining and easily accommodated our reservation request on one day's notice. Lovely atmosphere in the main dining room.

Room was average , lacked refrigerator. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. A/C was window type and cheap ....could not turn to LOW or quiet. either on loud and full blast or off so one could sleep. Went to this Inn because it was highly recommended for very good food. Was very disappointed in that we were put into the... More

Thank you Ecloutier, We very sorry you felt this way. I wish you would have let us know at the time of your stay of your troubles. We would have looked into moving you and/or given you a refrigerator, they are available upon request. The last thing we want is for you or anyone is to have been uncomfortable. Visit... More

Perhaps I am getting cynical about quaint inns.....staff was very nice, food was good but all this 21st century quaintness is getting old. Vermont used to be truly rustic Vermont. Now everything is gentrified in its own way and every "quaint" inn (throughout the country) is exactly the same. Definitely do not get a room on the road side of... More

Hello J Hallen, Sorry to hear that your stay was not what you had hoped it would be. If you like old properties with character, this inn is for you. Comfortable bed, room air conditioner, and an easy walk to the Dorset Playhouse. An excellent breakfast included. We will definitely stay here again next time we go to The Playhouse.

Room over priced. Restaurant food very disappointing. Had booked special package but no one seemed to know what was going on. Though the staff was pleasant they were not really professional. Breakfast was the best part and those servers were very nice and attentive. Not so in the dining room Would not return.

We were meeting friends for dinner and at the last minute ended up making a reservation at the Dorset Inn. We arrived a little early so we could sit at the bar and enjoy a cocktail.
