During a trip East to visit family in Vermont, we stayed at the Silas Griffith Inn for one night. The Management was friendly and helpful, but that's where it ends. Very run down, paint peeling, carpet dirty, very very musty and smelly. The bed was lumpy, hard and the sheets had stains on them. It was obvious that they had...

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I do remember your complaint about the lumpy bed and I have left a note for the new owners. We do change the sheets with every guest. I apologize for missing the bleach stains on the towels. Unfortunately, you only stayed 1 night during the busiest weekend in Vermont and never mentioned your...

I will be honest, driving up, we were a touch concerned. It had a bit of an Adams Family feeling. And the paint was chipping. Upon entry it wasn't much different, the decor was turn of the century with porcelain dolls and a ton of teddy bears. Not what I was expecting at all. However. With that said, the host...

You can't judge a book by its cover and you can't always judge a B&B by the exterior appearance. First impression is that Silas Griffith Inn is badly in need of an exterior paint job. Don't let this put you off. I was met by Cathie, the proprietress, who is an exceedingly friendly and welcoming woman. She showed me to...

Silas Griffith Inn is very small inn, actually a B&B. The owner Cathy is extremely nice, friendly, creative and wonderful host. She cooks very original and tasty food for breakfast and every guest is cared for with special attention. The house is old and full of history, but also cozy and welcoming. Don't expect to find polished perfection there, as...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We really loved having you folks as our guests. Thank you for the honest and glowing review. Hopefully we'll see you again and you can visit the wonderful hiking trails in the beautiful Green Mountains!

I actually am appalled by some of the poor reviews left here by people. Yes, the inn is old and in need of some repairs, but a.) I don't really think people understand the amount of money it takes to completely renovate a building of that size...especially when it is most likely taxed to all hell b.) When you're vacationing...

We had a great experience at this B&B during our 3 night stay. We were treated warmly and the owner was so very helpful and wanting to give you guidance on sights, etc... We appreciate that they are pet-friendly. We understand renovation takes time. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The roosting barred Owl outside our room was an...

I'm sorry I am so late in thanking you for taking the time to review us. Thank you for staying with us, and taking the time to write this. We love sharing Vermont with our guests and are very happy to provide lodging for our 4-footed companions as well. The owl and his mate are happily in the tree nest...

We stayed two nights at the Silas Griffith Inn in order to spend a few days hiking with our dog in the Manchester VT area. The innkeeper was a friendly, cheerful woman who clearly loved dogs. She made us feel very welcome and was helpful with advice about where we could swim with pup and what restaurants had outdoor seating...

Thank you for taking the time to review our Inn. I'm glad you felt welcomed and comfortable on your weekend away from your kids. I'm glad Fiona enjoyed her stay as well and hope you all enjoyed our many pet-friendly restaurants in the area. Yes, we are renovating. Yes, it takes time. We are removing the hottub which this year's...

The inn is in disrepair (don't believe signs about historic renovations). Basic upkeep tasks are ignored and even arriving after dark the discarded bikes, tools and assorted trash was evident in the bushes and around the buildings. Don't waste your money.

Found it from a friend. Inn is in process of restoration which takes considerable time. Kathy prepares your breakfast from a limited menu but all excellent. If you take the time to allow Kathy to tell you the history if the Inn, you will be amazed. Rooms in an adjacent historical building with a relatively steep stairway but that was...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us! We really appreciate it. Thanks for mentioning the Round Pocket door. It really is a unique piece of architectural history. Supposedly it is the largest round pocket door in Vermont, and the 2nd largest in the country. We really enjoyed having you as our guests, and hope to see...

This Inn has a very interesting history. The restoration is a work in progress. VT had continuous rain in the spring and summer so it was hard to make much progress on the outside. Kathy was a wonderful host. We were in the area doing genealogy. She called the local historian to find out some info. for us and also...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We're very happy you enjoyed your stay. Our chickens are definitely friendly. This weekend some of the guests were able to pet Frick when she and the other hens came down to meet people. Genealogy has become a bit of a hobby since we bought the Silas Griffith Inn....
