I spent a lovely weekend at the Lilac Inn. The inn is beautifully decorated and the meals were delicious. Doug and Shelly were wonderful hosts. I hope to return in warmer weather so I might enjoy the lovely grounds.

My husband and I spent the week at this lovely and well-appointed inn. The inn keepers were very helpful in giving us ideas for short excursions each day and where to eat for dinner. Our breakfasts each morning were excellent: fresh fruit, a freshly baked goodie, and three choices for breakfast. Our room was extremely comfortable. Each evening, we enjoyed...

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us in one or our guest rooms with a wood burning fireplace. We are very glad that when Albert Farr built his 11,000 square foot “summer cottage” in 1909, he saw fit to include six fireplaces! Maybe summers were cooler in those days!

Inn is beautifully decorated and Doug and Shelly are the best. Stayed in the Spring Room beautiful and spacious. Beautiful spacious bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. It connects with another room so you may hear noise from the other room that is the only thing I would say if you are sensitive to noise then it might not be the...

Thank you for being our guests and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay in the Spring Room with one of the original deep bath tubs from 1909.

We have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed! All the rooms are beautiful and nicely decorated with antique treasures. Our room had a wood burning fireplace and a claw foot bathtub! The innkeeper is a delightful gentleman with a great knowledge of the history of the inn and town. We will definitely return.

Actually this is the review I promised from March 2013 when I was skiing through on The Catamount Trail. (It's taken me a while!) The rooms are highly decorated in a period sort of way consistent with the premises being used as a wedding location, and each room is individualised if I recall correctly. The host, Doug, was extremely helpful...

It was a very calming and intimate stay. The owners were wonderful and the home is quaint and beautiful. I know they have renovated the bathrooms....the home was quiet when I went in November a few years back...the breakfast was delicious and we opted to have dinner for two in the bedroom. Oh my God...what a beautiful and intimate set...

While our inn was built to a very high standard by Albert Farr in 1909, there are times when discrete updates to his “summer cottage” are called for to keep the inn up to date for today’s more sophisticated traveler. Thus we have upgraded several bathrooms and added king beds to many rooms. We hope to see you on a...

We stayed at several B & B's in NY and Vermont. We liked the Inn experience slightly better than the B & B model. It provided more privacy but at the same time, Shelly and Doug were right there and their service was excellent! The room (2) was beautiful and comfortable, bed was just right. The breakfast (pumpkin pancakes) were...

I normally stay in the Norwich area; however, there was no availability so the Lilac Inn in Brandon was my back-up. I am glad I had the opportunity to stay there as it was a pleasure. They are pet friendly which is always a plus and it is situated in a charming town that was lovely to stroll with my...

Thank you so much for being our guests and all of your comments. As dog owners, we know how nice it is to take our “family members” with us as we travel and look for lodging. This B&B has verandas for sitting amidst well-maintained grounds and gardens, dating since 1909. Beautifully furnished and comfortable. The owner welcomes guests to explore and relax and simply enjoy. Very pleasant.

Thank you for your review and for being our guests. As we might have told you, we can grow flowers here that we could not enjoy in CT, as the deer stay up on the mountains. We are making for years of being deprived of day lilies, hostas and hollyhocks. Our front veranda has exquisite views of Park Street, which...
