During a rare Texas snowstorm where we lost power and water for days, Comfort Suites was there for us. We stayed in a superior king room which had a seating area, fridge and microwave which helped us get through a rough couple of days. The room was clean and well-maintained. The front desk staff was super helpful and pleasant during our stay. We appreciate their hospitality!

They have lots of parking for you trucks with trailers. The parking is clean and wide. The rooms are about like most and the bathrooms have the best showers after a all day trip. Those pillows though.... oh my goodness. sleep like a baby

My complaint number is 9531579 - I originally had a reservation for Sat, July 27, 2019. I called Friday evening to inquire if there were any rooms available for that day and was advised that there was one room. I asked the clerk to add Friday to my reservation and was told it was taken care of. What actually happened was the clerk cancelled my Saturday, July 26, 2019 reservation. When I had the July 26 date added, I was very specific and told the clerk at least three times that we still needed the July 27 reservation as we would be in San Marcos until Sunday. We arrived late Friday night and got our room and then I discovered early Saturday morning that our reservation for Saturday was cancelled and there were no rooms available. I became frantic as I know that most hotels in San Marcos are completely booked on Saturdays during the summer. When I contacted the manager and told him the problem and that I was upset, he told me not to be upset with him as he wasn't responsible and he was there when the clerk cancelled our reservation. He offered to take $15 off our bill and I told him that was not enough for our inconvenience. H asked me what I wanted and I told him to keep my room and my reservation and if not to comp it and to find me a decent hotel as I know there aren't any. I asked why I should be inconvenienced and he had no answer. I asked to contact a customer that had not checked in yet and find them a room and he refused. He found a room at a bed and breakfast on the square. When I told the manager that was not good enough he told me not his problem and hung up on me. I called the complaint line and he did end up taking $40 off our bill, but I feel that was not good enough due to the stress and inconvenience. I called several hotels and they were all booked, so we went to the bed and breakfast and the air went out at about midnight. Our trip was miserable due to the ineptness of the staff at the Comfort Suites. The manager needs to be trained better customer service. We are Choice Members, but after this experience, I am hesitant to stay in another Choice Hotel.

A week before my stay, I called to ask if I could check in early. I needed to be somewhere by 1:30 p.m. on the date of my arrival. Front desk staff said they would mark my reservation as needing an early check in. We get there at noon and staff wouldn't budge on getting us in. I was basically told, "Tough, you have to wait until 4 p.m to check in. I know they had rooms available because I was standing there when the housekeeping supervisor gave the front desk staff the list of room already cleaned. When I asked about getting one of those rooms. I was was told that they could not do it and that I just had to wait until 4.

I’ve stayed at this location once before and returned because it’s such a great value and the staff is friendly. The reason I won’t return is because of questionable housekeeping practices. I arrived very late and was exhausted after driving straight from work so I didn’t really notice the cleanliness of the room. I did notice some old crackers that were left from the previous guest in the corner of the room but it wasn’t that big of a deal. The next morning, I noticed some dark stains on the bedding I’d been sleeping on. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly blood. Not old blood stains, but fresh blood drops and smears. There’s no way that bedding had been washed. Checkout was at 11:00 I believe, but I had to run to the store to get some things before checking out. I arrived back at about 10:00, and a guy from housekeeping was already in my room making the bed, etc. I clearly had not checked out as my suitcase, clothes, and personal belongings were still in the room. I told him I hadn’t checked out yet and he said he was just making the bed. He was literally making the bed I had just slept in with the same bedding I had just used. It was quite awkward and I was uncomfortable with him in there while I was packing up my stuff so I didn’t really say anything, but in retrospect, I definitely should have. He stepped out of the room but left the door open while he worked in the room across the hallway, coming back and forth between the two rooms. I wish I would have slammed the door on him as I wasn’t even ready to leave yet, and I now felt rushed. Also, because I was rushed, I left my brand new glasses in the room, which were never found. I hope this issue is addressed with housekeeping as it is thoroughly disgusting and a total dealbreaker for me. God only knows how many people in a row have slept on those sheets. Rumor has it, they’re still in rotation.
