Visited the Rose Mansion on a get away... Had a great time on one of the cabins and enjoyed a great breakfast on the main house. The manager was a nice lady who offered us any help we could need to make our stay as wonderful as possible. Had the great visit of a deer early morning, unforgettable experience!

George's Log Cabin was fabulous. We had a great time reading on the front porch, while enjoying a bottle of wine and looking out over the small field while the deer strolled by. Kay was wonderful and the breakfast was fantastic!

We stayed in the Garrison Cabin and it was nice, relaxing and peaceful. Kay was wonderful taking care of guests food requests and being a wonderful host. We were able to peek into most rooms/cabins before other guests checked in and I think mine and the Sharecroppers was my favorite. Had some extra space. The only thing I would suggest...

We held a family reunion here and had such a lovely weekend. Kay is a wonderful hostess and made the best breakfasts! The kids (big & small) enjoyed fresh baked cookies in the afternoons. We loved spending evenings playing board games in the Sun Room of the main house. My husband and I stayed in the Sharecropper's Cottage and the...

My sister-in-law and I had a wonderful stay at the Rose Mansion. We were there on a Monday night and Tuesday morning and had the entire property to ourselves. What a wonderful experience! Stayed in the downstairs room in the main house. That was not what we had reserved but it worked better for us. Kay, the innkeeper, was VERY...

Beautiful property with lots of charm. Well-maintained. Located 1/2 mile off Main Street. Main house built in 1800s. Several cottages, one of which is the oldest log cabin in the county, all in different styles scattered among huge trees. Some cabins have TVs; others don't. I chose one which didn't, and I loved it! 4 days with no TV. It...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled among towering oaks, elms and persimmon trees, this traditional Greek Revival style mansion, complimentary cottages and log cabins are located on two acres of landscaped grounds surrounded by a picturesque picket fence. The grounds offer a mini tour of early Texas dwellings. Texas markers and one National Register marker attest to the authenticity of the Rose Mansion, two beautifully restored log cabins, a summer kitchen cottage and a larger Greek Revival cottage. The main home, built in 1870 by Major A.J. Rose, has four bedrooms (three have fireplaces), a grand parlour, an elegant dining room and a cozy country kitchen. The mansion is complimented with Rose family memorabilia and authentic antiques. A windmill with a cypress storage tank, a rock smoke house and an old wagon are nostalgic reminders of the past. Shaded seating areas, swings and hammocks located across the grounds compliment these accommodations. No wonder the Mansion was featured in the June 1996, February and November 1999 issues of Southern Living Magazine! ... more   less
