The owner is great he will answer all questions and concerns. The staff is very good about staying on top of things for the rooms daily. The pool is kept clean. Everyone stays out of one another's way. The only dissapointments have to do with the room itself. Me and my girlfriend found several stains on the sheets and pillow...

Every thing you need is in your room. The owners are so great and the nicest people you will meet. They were so helpful when we had any questions about the area and what we were looking for. The pool was clean and so nice. Housekeeping would make our bed regardless if there was any thing on it. Once made...

I love old-fashioned drive up to the room motels and this one was spic & span clean, updated and so reasonably priced. Cecelia was very nice and even left me a note for my very late check-in indicating my room number and left the room unlocked, key on the table. Great little pool, laundry machine available ($2 for wash, $0...

We stayed two nights while on a birding trip in the area and were quite pleased. The place has been around for awhile, but it is in good repair and was extremely clean. Very good beds. Location allows for walking to several good spots to eat.

We spent two nights recently. I read a review about a roach. I never saw one. However, this is the Texas Tropics and critters do come with the territory. The owner was very pleasant. The room was not huge but adequate, very clean with nice kitchenette. The fridge was larger than most motels offer. Pool is clean, large, and private....

I read great reviews on another site so the hubbs and I decided to stay here for an anniversary trip. Unfortunately, those reviews were off. The place was described as, although an older hotel, it was extremely clean and comfortable. Pros: 10 minutes from South Padre Island Price. Only $68/night when we went Walking distance from some restaurants The view...

I'm reluctant to write this review because I don't want the good word to get out that Southwind Inn is an excellent place to stay in Port Isabel. I've stayed here twice and both times have been great experiences. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, the views beautiful, and the location is excellent. There are numerous shops and...

I was in Port Isabel for business over two nights, and stayed here. You can tell that the management is slowly but surely upgrading things and keeping everything running well. The TV was new and worked well, and I was glad to have a mini-fridge and coffee maker to myself. The bed was comfortable if not luxurious, though the comforter...

“Two room choices are available: a king bed or two regulars. Two floors with rooms at one end overlooking the bay and the front side overlooking a cemetery. Bring your own pots, utensils and plates if you plan to cook. A crockpot came in handy for our month-long stay.”

“You can't just call the Southwind. You have to leave a message and they call you back or you can email them. The owners do live on the property. In the middle of the night, the power went out for about thirty minutes. The manager says that happens several times a week so you don't have to freak out. It is a Port Isabel thing.”
