You WILL NOT find it here. This is a very large old white.. almost mansion like, home overlooking the water. I have been coming back for 30 years.... since I was much younger and it definitely captured me. It is a place where one can again step back in time and enjoy the simple and beautiful. I've stayed in rooms...

I'm giving this Gem of a hotel 5 stars. This Hotel falls into it's own Category of coolness. It's Historic and some of the areas are in need of refurbishing- but the rooms are great. We stayed in the Caribbean Suite- 2 adorable rooms separated by an actual kitchen- and LOVED it. But you don't come here for the luxurious...

This is my second time staying here. The first time I flew into the airport, one mile down the road, with my son for a weekend fishing trip. This time I brought my wife because I thought she'd like the old hotel with all it's history and nostalgia. She was not disappointed. The fishing pier is right across the street...

If you are looking for a fancy, 5 star hotel, this is not it. This hotel is a piece of history. The rooms are clean but dated. The presidential suite has been used by more than 1 US President. There have also been many that say that it is haunted so there is an added suspense to see if you...

We attended quite a unique event at the Luther Hotel last week. They has TWO book signings, a hand-made crocheted doll sale, and picking and grinning with an excellent singing duo on the front porch. Two nights of fun and entertainment along with rocking and talking on the porch by the bay. There's no place like the Luther Hotel anywhere...

Hotel is an old landmark for this town. Built in 1903 and at this time needs a major facelift, inside & out! Breakfast area was comfy with good coffee, cereal and toast. The owner/manager made the stay pleasant. Very nice fishing pier and waterfront area is just across the street.

Very old old hotel the rooms are moldy and very hot the acs have a musty smell not worth the $ half the. Building has tilted on one side carpets and dirty looking I'd definitely look before renting a room

If you like antiques, old furniture, something extremely cool that was built 116 years ago then you'll love this place. It's like stepping out of a time machine and living in the past, it's not fancy with all kinds of new fixtures, it's much cooler than that. Take a trip into history.

An old wooden structure in need of repair, charming in spite of if because of its lack of slickness and pretension. Stay in the nautical room, the magnolia room or the penthouse, feast your eyes on the old photographs, the old fixtures and the palms and oaks that have endured many hurricanes....

We booked a room at the Luther over the telephone. We managed to arrive early enough to look over the hotel in time to cancel our reservation. My husband and I were doing a leisurely weekend car trip and did not NEED to stay in Palacios. I don't mind old buildings, but this one is very shabby. I can understand...
