Gara Suites Golf & Spa offers a tranquil setting that some guests cherish, despite its isolated location which often necessitates taxi rides to local attractions. The hotel's amenities, including a pristine pool, gym, and spa, receive favorable reviews for cleanliness and space. While the atmosphere strikes a balance between a lively social scene and serene poolside relaxation, opinions about the hotel’s value are mixed, with discrepancies in room comfort and additional costs. Rooms are described as spacious but in need of an update, and noise can be an issue. The service garners mixed reactions; housekeeping is commended for maintaining cleanliness, yet some guests find the reception staff less accommodating.

We have just come home form our week away staying at Gara Suits and we have enjoyed our time in Tenerife.
Our first impressions of the hotel when the coach dropped us off were "wow" the place visually looked amazing from the outside. Check in was smooth and easy.

The room- first look, the room was clean and presentable. Balcony was a nice, got the sun for the majority of the day. Unfortunately the first night we had a few problems with the room and a very uncomfortable night sleep. The AC was not working. We also had a problem with the shower screen and draining.
All was reported in the morning however because it took so long for the maintenance guy the shower was sorted no problem but we had to encounter a 2nd night of very uncomfortable and hot sleep due to a part needing Changing in the AC although this did eventually get sorted.
Cleaners came in every day and did am good job, beds chances and made, fresh towels and a good sweep every day. My only complains is the mugs were not changes and it's hard to clean them yourself with no soap and washing cloth. The kettle could use a descale a bit more regularly.
The room had no information in it for example daily activities, evening entertainment, local places/things to do etc. This would have been useful as I personally don't like having to ask all the time, and I thought it was strange, I have never stayed anywhere with no information/welcome info in a room.

We booked our trip on a half board basis, mainly because there was such little different between B&B and half board however we only had dinner at the on-site buffet 2 times in the whole week and both times we were disappointed. There is a wide selection on offer however the quality was not there. There was a fresh grill which offered a meat and fish option which was nice but all the other hot food selection was sub standard. We felt we had a better meal, cheaper outside the hotel.
Breakfast was good- wide choice but depending on the time you went depended on quality. There was a fresh grill for pancakes and omelets (the omelette was nice) along with fried eggs.
I felt there was a lack in the fresh fruit, although a variety of tinned options. The smoothie we're good as well.

The staff were helpful through out.
I felt that the cost to stay was not represented in the overall experience along with there star rating, however I do feel like there is a lot of potential and with some slight improvements and i hope feedback is taken on board.
Finally don't be afraid to book a stay at Gara to get your own experience. This is our experience but everyone has there own. I would bare in mind the hotel, in my opinion is more 3 star.

My mum and I booked a 6 night bed and breakfast stay. It was ok and we enjoyed our time away but we wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. Staff are really nice and although we had read reviews about the staff being rude, we personally thought the staff were really nice and never encountered with any rude staff members. At first we were happy with our room - it was spacious and seemed clean so we were pleased until we had 5 cockroaches. We spoke to reception and they said they would spray our room but we bought spray ourselves anyways and thankfully we didn’t seem to have anymore. Our towels only got changed twice and when they did get changed they always seemed to give us towels with dirty marks on them which wasn’t the best. Our bed sheets got changed once when we were there but we had to ask to get them changed. The bed was 2 single beds pushed together which wasn’t an issue but they were so uncomfortable and we are now paying with a sore back. We only stayed at the pool one day as it was a very shaded pool and the pool bar was over priced and the food wasn’t that great. Pool was a great size though and plenty of sun beds for everyone. Breakfast was the only meal we ate in the hotel and we thought it was great. Food was really fresh and there was a great variety of different foods. The location of the hotel isn’t all that great and there isn’t any shops close by to get water or snacks and the hotel itself doesn’t have a small supermarket. The bars in the hotel don’t accept cash it’s card only. On our last day we visited the spa for a massage. €50 for 55 minutes “full body”. However I didn’t get my arms or feet massaged and afterwards when I asked for a drink of water they said they didn’t have any. Waste of money in my opinion and wouldn’t get another massage although the spa room was nice. There is a horrific smell at the entrance of the hotel. It seems almost like a sewage smell but it’s so strong and off putting. Not exactly the nicest way to enter a hotel.

We did enjoy our holiday as it is what you make of it but we wouldn’t stay at this hotel and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you’re wanting a golf trip.

Just returned yesterday from a week staying at Gara Suites Golf and Spa. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here even though we experienced an African sandstorm during our stay which made us have to spend the afternoon in the bar!!

Our room (2050) was spacious, clean, light and airy. Separate bedroom with large bathroom which can be accessed from either lounge area or bedroom. Nice balcony overlooking the gardens, reception and restaurant had full sun most of the day. Only about two English channels on TV. The gardens were impeccably maintained and all public areas spotlessly clean.

Very nice pool bar with friendly staff and a combination of different seating which we found very welcome at the end of the afternoon.

The pool area is very nice with comfortable sun loungers for a change! Apparently, there are pool towels available, but we used our own on this holiday.

The food we thought was good although agree with others about the temperature of the food at times. Other than that there was so much choice with plenty of variation. The staff work swiftly and everyone knows what they should be doing.

We were half board which suited us perfectly, however, this is where we had a bit of a gripe. Being a cashless hotel, you cannot settle your bill at the end of your meal. The staff continually interupt your meal for you to pay as you go along which is annoying and on our last night it involved my husband having to go up to the room on the second floor between courses to get his credit card during our meal to pay for the wine we had ordered. We had previously set up an account with reception for our stay, but we didn't realise that we were up to the 100 euro limit.

In summary, we had a thoroughly enjoyable week at the hotel. We walked down into Los Christianos, Las Americas, along the promenade through to Costa Adeje and beyond most days during our stay. Always a taxi back up the hill at a cost of between 3.50 euros and 6.7 from further afield, but well worth it.

We would definitely return again. Thank you.

Just returned from a week long family holiday in the Gara Suites. The whole trip start to finish was excellent. We went all inclusive and couldn’t fault one thing. The food was of a really high quality and great variation. Every evening was different and they had plenty to chose from and they had something for everyone. Restaurant staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. The bar on the terrace for lunch was great also and again plenty to chose from. The whole resort was spotless and even after a sandstorm staff were cleaning to ensure the place was clean. Rooms were spotless and big and the little touches such as toothbrush, toothpaste etc. Is a nice touch. The location is good situated on a golf course and about a 20 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Overall excellent stay and will be back.

We stayed a week in a self catering apartment in late January ,it was large and well laid out apparent with separate bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and balcony.
It was clean on arrival and cleaned everyday if you wanted it to be.
The balcony was west facing and unfortunately with winter sun didn’t hit it during the daylight hours . This is just how it was, it did however have a view over the golf coarse it is in the middle of , there was no noise or disruption at all from its location.
The kitchen had more storage area than was needed however it was lacking on the equipment front, with no microwave and a mix and match set of pots along with the three forks and four knives etc . If I was to go back which I would without hesitation I would take some items back with me like fairy a sponge foil cling film etc just for ease as this is not included.
The hotel was quiet and the facilities partly open all snacks and drink were from the bar outside near the pool. They only take card due to current restrictions.
The pools are vast and open early till the sun goes down with a lifeguard between 11 and 1800 hours who goes around clearing the areas and putting beds back in line as soon as they are left. The tiles on the poolside are very clean and in great order no chips etc and do not attract the heat during the day. The three pools are heated and a great attraction during the day , there are plenty of chairs to pick from as it’s not busy and there are few children around due to the time of year. The hotel is a walk from any supermarket (nearest Siam mall) for any supplies and a 15 minute walk to eateries and shops nearby, it’s remote compared to some other hotels but it’s rated at 4⭐️ and rightly so , it appealed to us but not everyone wants to walk the distances we did to get to food or supplies, I get that but on an evening it’s a pleasant walk and was sometimes needed. It’s 5 to 6 euros in a taxi to get to costa adeje and Siam park is walking distance if you are going there. It’s even visible from the hotel. All in all it’s a great hotel that I can see being busy in the summer and an amazing stay if you are there to play a lot of golf. I would seriously recommend this hotel especially with Jet2 and would return myself . There were no real negatives to our stay here.

Visually nice hotel & well maintained. Lacking signage & information though so we had to keep attending reception to ask about things that most hotels would provide by way of booklets in the room. No directions/signage around hotel & we paid to park in garage under hotel €20 per week. We couldn’t then get out because we couldn’t work out how to open the electronic door. It turns out you wave your room card on the wall sensor which is about 25 metres from the door. Again no signage or arrows to it!
Food was ok, good variety but not for vegetarians (pasta & salad every night), quality lacking in some of the food.
Breakfast in carnage! It’s so busy, sometimes struggle to get a clan glass & can have queues at the coffee machines.
Most of the staff were friendly & some were really lovely in the dining room. Had a rude bloke at pool bar though! And a couple of times at dinner when ordering drinks, they were more interested in how you were going to pay than taking your order! They are very strict about cards payment or room tab only (no cash) at dinner and they take your order as soon as you sit down & then you get the buffet but they then want to take your card payment whilst your eating & they won’t wait until the end to settle the bill so if during the course of dinner you want more than one drink, you have to keep paying as you eat which was a bit odd!
Good rooms, big & clean. Comfy bed. Nice heated pool. Good aerobics session at 12pm each day in the pool. We had a car but if you are planning to walk to centre of playa, it’s a trek although loads of taxis around.
Probably would stay again for the price but I’d say more 3 star than 4.

Me and my partner booked a golf view room which on arrival was not “ ready and there was a mix up with the reservation “ the staff were rude and showed no sympathy whatsoever we were told they would put us up in another room for the night and to come down at 9am the next day to change rooms .. 9am turned into 12pm then 1pm then 4pm a day completely wasted trying to move rooms. The rep had to get involved in the end as we were constantly being fobbed off .. eventually we made it into our correct room. The room was spacious and the balcony superb, we were all inclusive but found the food to be cold full of fish dishes and horrible so spent a fortune eating out every day. The only good meal was breakfast one day. It takes a good 15 - 20 mins walk to the beach and shops and a taxi if needed costs approximately €5. Top shelves drinks are not included in all inclusive and the attitude of the staff was terrible. Entertainment on a night is poor and be prepared to walk around the whole complex after 9pm as they lock all gates to get to stairs/lifts. On a plus the room was cleaned every day and fresh towels left but the cleaners come knocking around 8am.

Large resort, nice clean rooms, but that’s all.
Weird complicated corridors, poor signage means you can get lost easily.

The worst part is the staff behaviour and attitude. They don’t answer the calls to the reception. We called maybe 10 times, and only one time they answered the phone. When we went down (the reception is good 5 min walk from room), they just shrug their shoulders and say, ‘we have 430 guests to look after, we are doing our best’.

It took them one day to fix our fridge and two days to fix air conditioning in the room, that too after a number of reminders.

The room service didn’t replenish the toiletries or clean the glasses. We had to get them ourselves from reception.
They don’t clean the floor. Only make the beds everyday. With a toddler, our room was considerably dirty in a couple of days.

We reserved the car park. Their price list mentions; €5 per day or €20 per week. We stayed for 5 days and they charged us €25. Just beats the logic. They say you are not staying for a week, so we will charge u €5 a day!
The car park is secure but easy to get lost again. Took us time to figure out where the lifts were.

Overall, not worth the price. They may be a 4 star property but too casual as far as hospitality is concerned.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, everything about our stay was perfect. If I could give it 6 stars I would.
The staff were friendly and helpful from the start, our room was a standard suite with a large spacious balcony that caught plenty of sun. The room itself was modern and bright, with plenty of space for the 2 of us.
We booked bed and breakfast and all the food we had was brilliant, lots to choose from every day.
We stayed in til late a couple of times to watch the evening entertainment and as hotel entertainment goes, it wasn't too bad, probably aimed at kids more than anything.
We ordered taxis at reception and they never took more than 2 mins to arrive, roughly €5 - €8 to get into Las Americas each night.
The pool was big but a little shallow, and there was plenty of sunloungers in the sun and the shade.
At both the indoor bar and the pool bar you are able to put any drinks or snacks on your tab and pay up at the end of your stay.
I would definitely stay here again, overall it is a fantastic hotel that deserves more than the 4 stars it has been given officially.

I was disgusted with this..the list goes on with faults with hotel no shop anywhere near to hotel . room basic electric sockets cracked open enough that a child could fit there fingers into it, really unsafe we couldn't leave our baby to walk anywhere in the room with out us..please people do not book here they hate british and hate self catering customers .. this hotel should be taken off jet 2 I feel conned with what we payed for and what we received ...please family's with kids or normal people please do not stay here I have travelled all over the world stayed in all basis hotels and this is the worst I have ever stayed in my life don't do it to your family !!! Hi, sorry for the delayed response. I recommend a view facing the golf course to the south. To the north, you look directly down at the golf course and a very busy road. Plus, it smells a bit like sewage in that direction. A southern view over the golf course, Las Americas, and the sea is the only right choice.
