Oh Rey Carlos. My partner and I booked a very last minute get away to Gran Canaria through icelolly.com. The holiday company were great, very organised and all went to plan, however it might of been a better experience if we stayed on the coach the whole trip. As we arrived at the Rey Carlos we were simply catapulted into...

the hotel is like something out of an old grand estate, suits of armour and statuettes in the foyer, old style wooden furniture that really suits it. The staff on reception were very helpful and the room maids were terrific, the rooms were cleaned and linens changed everyday. the waiters were wonderful and the food was excellent, the only two...

The only good things about the Rey Carlos are the pool area and size of the rooms or "suites" as they call them . The furnishings and decor have clearly not been changed since it was built over 30 years ago . Everywhere in the hotel is dark. A truly depressing place with surly staff .

Fed up with the often quite poor apartment offering in Playa del Ingles, this proved to be a much better choice. Room 126 proved to be very good for us ... effectively a suite on the first floor with a balcony facing the street, overlooking the pool... an area often noisy but not here as the whole pool area is...

Booked in for one night to see what it was like first so glad we only wasted £90.00 the hotel is out of the arc and we felt like Dr Who going back in time! The reception staff was nice however the food and service was appalling the room or Suite as they call it was dirty and again we...

A true 3-star establishment. I didn't have any unrealistic expectations about this place. It consists of 3 buildings. All rooms / apartments facing Tirajana street and the bedrooms are in the back of the apartment with a small window to the hallway. That is actually a great idea so you don't hear any noise from the street at any time....

If your a fan of the old "Are you being served" TV series you may remember when they all went to stay in the resort of Costa Plonka or when the Carry On team went to Els Bells in Carry On Abroad ?. If you do remember these then you will know exactly what this hotel is like, It is...

This hotel is in a good spot for going to the beach in the day and going to the yumbo centre at night - both easy walking distance. It's a very strange hotel though. I think it's trying to give an historic rey Carlos feel - like you've stepped into an old castle from centuries ago. However, it just all...

This place should not be open... it is a throw back to another age. It is all that is bad about Gran Canaria and not a good advert for the island. It is time that accommodation here was upgraded and the King Carlos should be first. It is just dated and the service is awful. The food is not advised...

This place should have been refurbished years ago... It is like a ´Theme´ hotel for 1970´s Spanish packahe holidays. It is truely awful. The food was so bad that we left it - the sort of food that would not even be served in a school canteen. It was just ´gloup´! My friend got an electric shock from the Spanish...
