The food is exceptional with plenty of choice and many dishes freshly prepared and cooked as requested. There is also fizz at breakfast which is always welcomed when on holiday. We particularly enjoyed the “themed” evenings, as it prevented the restaurant from servicing mundane meals. Staff in the restaurant are wonderful.. prices for drinks were also very reasonable. The evening entertainment is enjoyable and hosts a variety of highly talented musicians.
The pool area is very relaxing with confortable and clean sun loungers and beds. The pool
Is pristine and not freezing cold either. The pool
Towels are of beautiful quality and can be changed daily. Garden areas around the pool are beautiful and well maintained. The staff attending to the pool and gardens are hardworking and friendly.
We were treated like royalty from check in until
We left. We were celebrating a special occasion during our stay where Santa Monica staff sent us a beautiful bottle of cava and fresh fruit to congratulate us. Thank you.
We are fortunate enough to travel every two months and found this hotel to be one of the best we have experienced, not just in Canary Islands but across the globe.
Thank you Santa Monica Suites. See you again to celebrate the new year.

Check-in procedures went fast and when I arrived I even got a glass of juice, which was very welcome after a long journey.
The room is very spacious and modern and tidy and there’s a large balcony.
All balconies have sun during the day and overlook the sea or the garden.
The tv offers more than 70 channels, but unfortunately the tv signal disappears every now and then. The same goes for the wifi signal. I think there’s room for improvement in that direction.
The bed is good and the bathroom is also spacious. It’s nice that there are a hairdryer, fridge and a safe available in the room.
Cleaning of the room good be a little better in my opinion. I only got clean towels on the fourth day of my stay, after asking about it at reception. I think this was a little late. And the plastic bags from the bins are emptied every day, but the same plastic bags go back inside the bin to re-use.
The public spaces in the hotel are all very clean.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area, but shops and restaurants, etc. are all in walking distance from the hotel.
At the swimming pool area there are enough sunbeds for all guests and everything is cleaned there every day. You can get a new towel, to use near the swimming pool, every day if you like.
The food at this hotel was fantastic. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet are great. Everything is nicely presented and it’s very tidy at the restaurant. I don’t think I ever had such great food as in this hotel.
Most of the staff at reception speak English very well and are friendly and willing to help you out with anything. The staff at the restaurant doesn’t speak English that well, but if you know a few words in Spanish or another language communication goes without any problems.
I can highly recommend this hotel. I would love to visit again. The hotel is less suitable for families with children and for young people who want to go out and party. Most guests are a bit older and are quiet.
Our room was modern, well appointed, had a very comfortable bed, double sinks in the bathroom and a seating area with a flat screen TV on the wall. There was also a fridge which although adequate was too small to put large bottles of water in. We had a room on the ground floor with a large terrace, two sunbeds, and a table with two chairs. Our terrace looked right out onto the well maintained pool area which contained lots of sunbeds. The pool itself was large and pool towels were available from the small cabin by the pool. When you check-in, you’re given two vouchers for pool towels which, on your first day, you present to the lifeguard at the cabin who then gives you two towels. Each day thereafter, you exchange your used pool towels for clean ones. This system worked well, and on your last day when you take your used towels back to the cabin, you’re given back two towel vouchers which you hand to reception upon checking-out.
We were half board and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything you could want was available and all well cooked and presented. We ate dinner at the hotel one night which wast the BBQ buffet night. The variety and quality of the food on offer was superb and a large beer was a reasonable price at 4.60 Euros.
Throughout our stay, the room was serviced to a good standard on a daily basis and all the staff including reception, restaurant, housekeeping and maintenance staff were all really polite and helpful.
The hotel has a fairly well appointed gym which I made good use of and it also has a sauna with great views of the Maspalomas Dunes which I used of a couple of times.
In summary, I highly recommend this hotel. Everything was pretty much spot on and there was nothing I could fault. I would certainly stay here again. The only very small negatives were the small fridge and not many English speaking TV channels. They didn’t detract from our holiday though. We had a fantastic time.
From the moment you first step on the marble like floor outside the hotel you are met with a gorgeous looking and tranquil environment, and a wonderful view of the ocean and sand dunes as you walk through the doors to reception. We were also greeted with a welcome drink, orange juice or prosecco which is a great touch to impress you from the get go. The sand dunes are also easy to access from the hotel which is a really cool experience, although the sand gets extremely hot so bring thick sole sandals or trainers! The walk to the beach is around 10 minutes accross the dunes (not for everyone) but you can also walk out the front of the hotel and down some steps to the main strip instead to access the beach if the dunes arent your thing which is around 15 minutes.
Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We must have asked reception a dozen queries about how to get to places, bus routes, taxis, restaurant recommendations and they were always so accomodating and enthusiastic to help. They can order you a taxi anywhere at the drop of a hat which we were also very impressed by, it feels like a 5 star service.
The pool area was stunning with plenty of comfortable sunbeds (even some proper mattress like beds on the upper deck) although the pool was a little bit cold, but only by a few degrees. The variety of sun beds on different levels made staying at the pool more interesting. Sadly no bat and ball or inflatables are allowed in the pool as they are keeping it a calm and tranquil place to relax which we were a bit disappointed by, but it didnt change how great the pool area was.
The room was spacious and every room faces the ocean view with a balcony to sit on and enjoy a drink. We were luckily on floor 5 (top floor) so had amazing views and watched the sunrise each morning from our balcony - it truly was breathtaking. The beds are two singles put together but that didnt bother us, as when they are together the bed is pretty large. The bathroom is a great size with a lovely shower and separate toilet. The safe, fridge and tea/coffee facilities in the room are free and you also have two free water bottles in the fridge upon your arrival. TV channels had good variety and they even had BBC which we were impressed by!
The breakfast buffet had a wide variety with subtle changes each day. We unfortunately didnt eat at the restaurant so cant say much about the evening food but we did have a drink and lunch at the pool bar which was nice and reasonably priced.
We can genuinely say we loved our stay and everyday was easy and fun, highly recommend this hotel which brings a touch of class to the area.
However, we pointed out to the hotel that although the food is mostly labelled, the labels could be more informative, particularly for vegetarians. It was not always obvious what the ingredients were so we avoided certain food choices simply because of that and asking the staff every time would be a hassle. Nonetheless, we enjoyed what we could eat and had plenty. The evening entertainment is in a small open bar overlooking the pool which must be lovely in the summer but is less inviting in winter. The open seating area in the hotel bar and lobby is pretty limited so don't expect to mingle informally with many other guests outside meals. It was only these very minor points which stopped us giving this hotel full marks but we would still recommend it.
It has direct access to the the beach (a short walk across the dunes) and has outdoor foot wash & showers for washing away the sand when you get back.
We had a sea view room and it had an unobstructed beautiful view over the dunes/beach/sea. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and relax.
The room was spacious, fresh and absolutely spotless. The staff were very thorough with cleaning every day. The bed was comfortable and we were very satisfied with the quality of the hotel.
My wife & I stayed for week. We opted for only the breakfast included (all inclusive is an option, but we prefer to dine out and visit different restaurants). So I can't comment on the dinner meals, but the breakfast buffet was excellent. Fresh food, fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, a huge selection of hot & cold dishes, as well as a made to order omelette station.
The hotel has a large adult pool and a separate baby/children's pool. Fresh towels were available from the hotel every day and there was an abundance of sun beds available around the pool area. The toilet facilities in the pool area were fresh, clean and of high quality.
The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and had great English. They made our stay very enjoyable.
Highly recommended and we would definitely be interested to return again.
Room was spacious, well equipped, nice was the seating area. We had booked the de luxe option, guaranteeing a room on the top floor. This worked out well, views were superb. Minibar, a massage and a visit to the a la carte restaurant were included per full week of booking. As we stayed for nearly three weeks, we got to experience this.
Bed was very good, comfortable, pillows. Beds are on wheels and even though brakes were applied, the beds moved occasionally.
Cleaning was generally good, however on one occasion some crumbles were spilt and ended up under the bed. Three days later this was cleaned. Also we have had to ask for replenishing toiletries which we have never had to do in other hotels with a comparable price.
The lack of coffee and tea making facilities was disappointing. We brought our own stuff, but this is something we expect in any hotel we book, again, especially when looking at the price range.
Staff was sufficient, however we experienced differences. Some were very friendly and engaging, others seemed to be going through the motions, didn’t go out of their way to make sure guests had an excellent time.
Breakfastbuffet was excellent, everything we could have wanted was supplied.
The a la carte restaurant opens 4 nights a week. Therefore the routine seems to be lacking. Service and the kitchen staff were dividing time between the restaurant and the buffet. It didn’t appear well-oiled, the food options were ok, but nothing memorable.
All in all an ok stay. We won’t say we won’t return, but we will be looking at other options first.
This hotel is fabulous. Clean, well looked after and up market.
There are cleaners and groundsmen always milling about keeping things just right.
The restaurant staff are all very welcoming and there to clear the dishes swiftly so you can keep the table clear.we had B & B. Highly recommended. Lots to choose from and also omlettes made to order.
The rooms are spacious, well decorated and just lovely. You get towels, robes and slippers, although the robes are on the small side. You also get a beach bag to use during your stay.
The pool area is perfect, you cannot save sunbeds so there is no mad rush in the morning to get a bed, everyone respects each other and there are always beds to get. Each pair of beds have an umbrella. There is always a lifeguard on duty, key hours. And you get pool towels so no need for own.
This hotel is great if you want a peaceful stay, as they don't allow floaties and balls in the pool. We took our children (15 and 21). The fact that there weren't loads of screaming children was fantastic as we are past those days now.
The hotel is right on the maspalomas sand dunes so if you want to go to the beach you can straight out of the hotel.
It is also walking distance from the shops, restaurants And bars. Both inland and on the beach.
I would highly recommend a stay here. It's worthy of it's star rating and we would absolutely be back.
