My 3rd visit to the Gran Regina. Didn't disappoint. For 1 week with my sister. Had a lovely holiday found the staff friendly and professional they never stop . Didn't go hungry, always plenty of choices, normal all inclusive, the burgers at the pool bar were very nice also, love that the ice creams are branded like Magnums. Entertainment was OK nothing different than other all inclusive hotels. Watched the pool area and pool being cleaned every morning. Also the bar area power hosed in the mornings. It was quite quiet this week so no problem getting a sunbed. Unfortunately we were there at the time of the terrible thunder storm. The entertainment couldn't make it one night due to the bad weather, unfortunately it couldn't be helped. Didn't ruin my holiday.

Stayed there last week for 10 days and read all the negative reviews but also some decent ones but don't be fooled, food is shocking and paid close to €300-€400 eating out, also everyone in hotel was bitten all over, but others we met fom other hotels were fine, beds were jumping with little bugs, avoid like the plague..

Just back from a late week away. Brilliant hotel and brilliant staff. Our room which serviced every day. We had balcony overlooking the entertainment area. Nothing on too late, and couldn’t hear much once the patio door was closed. AI option was well worth it. Good food choices, with something for everyone. The snack bar did great burgers etc out-with the restaurant times. Wee warning - pool is cold! It’s fine once you’re in but fair to say it doesn’t half wake you up 🤣 AI rooms could benefit from a kettle, or even a machine in reception, as there’s no access to tea/coffee until the restaurant opens - not good if you’re an early riser. Nice 10-15 minute stroll to the beach and shops. Can’t comment on theme park as we didn’t go. All in all, great value for money and would return September time again.

Just back from a weeks stay at the 4r. This is our 2nd time at this hotel and our 4th time in salou. We choose to go in spetember to avoid the mad rush of the summer holidays where things are probably alot more hectic. I'd like to address a few points I've seen others make regarding this hotel. 1. The food is amazing, both inside and out at the pool bar. I can't comprehend how people have complained about the food as there is so much choice even for fussy eaters. The outdoor area offers hot dogs, pizza, burgers, toasties and a huge selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. 2. The staff are amazing. Let's not forget they are human beings and appreciate people being nice to them. Every single staff member does an amazing job and we didn't find anyone that was unhelpful during our stay. Our daughter hurt her foot and the staff couldn't have been more helpful getting us what we needed. Shoutout to Raul, Niko, Dilson, Alfredo, Carolina, Victoria, Anka to name a few bar staff and the amazing kids entertainer Ona. 3. The rooms are cleaned daily and to a high standard, fresh towels everyday. The air con turns off when you open the patio door...obviously. don't understand some people's complaints regarding this... 4. The entertainment is not to everyone's taste but we enjoyed it. The illusionist on the 3rd night was amazing. Bingo at 9pm every night followed by kids mini disco and then entertainment. There is plenty to do in and around salou so you can't ever be bored. 5. Theme park was great, we went on Thursday and didn't queue for more than 10 minutes to go on anything. As the waterpark adjacent to portaventura closed a day before we arrived we visited aquapolis which is an 8 min drive in taxi. Again, great place. My only issue with this park is the people who go around and hound you after every ride to take your picture and try and force you to buy, but this isn't reflective of the hotel just some outside information. Overall, the 4r is a fantastic hotel, all the staff work very hard and if you are nice to them and not rude like alot of guests can be there is no problems. If you were on the fence about booking here due to past negative reviews please consider my review when choosing your hotel. It is local to beach and town centre and a 10 minute walk from the theme park. We will definitely be back again next year.

This hotel did not feel like a 4 star more like a 3. The good: the food was great - we have two boys who are fussy eaters and the most I have ever seen them eat on holiday. Really enjoyed that part - the rooms were clean, we had a suite so decent size. The entertainment was good. The bad: The pool, not big enough for this hotel, deep at one end that no one uses, then a narrow section to the shallow end, the water was murky, the tiles have black mould. A shower was taken out mid week, so you had to navigate around the sun beds and smokers. The ugly: Our youngest (10 years old) picked up a nasty ear infection from the pool that is not yet sorted after 2 visits to the doctors now we are home, It breaks my heart to see him in pain and I just hope it does not put him off in the future - there was an indoor pool that no one uses - a waster of space, that you have to pay to use, along with the shower cap and flip flops, a bit of a joke with a cleanliness of the outside. The pool area is not cleaned after the nights entertainment, disgusting to walk through cigarette ends the following morning🤮. I have been in far better 4 stars, not a snob just expect it to be clean, don’t take my word for it, have a trip to La Pineda and take a look at a 4 star or not because it may just cheese you off.

Arrived late in evening was greeted by helpful friendly receptionist 26/8/22, booked full board should have just booked for breakfast, bld, food was average , nice desserts, have a fussy eater who dined on chips for duration, so cost more to eat out elsewhere, they do a nice breakfast, however the guest are a bit territorial over the toaster in a que, They did do a nice mexican theme night which was a nice touch, also had different characters come in as minions for the younger guests, there is an evening entertainment if you have young kids and are confined to the hotel with all inclusive, the waiters and waitress are attentive and friendly hats of to them they work hard, the chef would greet ya as well which was nice.the toilet beside the restaurant needs to be cleaned as it’s not hygienic. hotel reception area and bar nice and clean bar staff nice. very obliging with ice. Shop in hotel queens, nice gifts , lady who works there is friendly. upon arrival to room two single beds and sofa bed was nice and clean. house cleaning staff are nice ,bathroom and balcony ,fridge which didn’t work also no iron for clothes which was quite frustrating. enquired at reception and was told they don’t supply them so had to use hair straightener to iron clothes. so if travelling here bring your own iron. Pool area nice however their is a battle for beds each morning from 7.45 am got hit with a chair and pushed over sun beds which is unacceptable when your queuing for them. shallow end of pool is full of entertainment for kiddies and kiddies club staff are very hands on and helpful, bar staff at pool friendly attentive and hardworking, nice cheeseburgers at bar as a snack . Their is a machine in reception which you can book tickets to portaventura world which is helpful. also plenty of information available , in regards to different activities jet ski , day trips etc.their is a gym. with indoor pool which the receptionist refers to this as a spa, their is no spa with treatment as such , their is two massage chairs in reception which is 2 euro for 5 mins and is amazing, would recommend here to stay if young kids, but would only book for breakfast and explore around as salou is lovely town , recommend temple bar to eat out food is fab and the staff are friendly and entertainment beach is fab and do a wonderful firework display

We are currently on day 3 of our holiday- I will of course update my review if anything changes but I wanted to write a review due the impact the negative reviews had on my anxiety before we came. I have not experienced any of the issues previously reported. (Except one life guard is extra Strict compared to other) Rooms are clean. Pool is clean. Impressed with food so far. Staff friendly (English not great for some but no one has been rude and even when they struggle we’ve had smiles / fist pumps for kids etc) We are having a great time.

Must say we was very worried after reading some of the reviews prior to our holiday , however we had a lovely time . ROOMS- how anyone can say they are small I don’t know ? We had a double room which consisted of 2 single beds together side tables at either side and a sofa ( which could turn into extra bed) we also had a dressing table with a fridge underneath which was great for storing water in . The bathroom was really big with walk in shower , fantastic shower with different settings , the mist ones great for cooling down ! The air con was fantastic , yes it does turn off if u leave balcony doors open but who does that ? I was actually cold on a night with the air con so not sure how anyone can moan about that either . Balcony had plenty of room with table and 2 chairs . We overlooked front of hotel but was fantastic view of mountains . POOL- the pool was a bit gritty on the floor nothing really bad but the rep soon sorted that and it had a super clean the next morning and was lovely . Was about 2.5 in deep end so all the kids kept in shallow end so was perfect for adults as was quiet at deep end . Only negative on pool is your not allowed inflatables in it . Which was sad as kids had bought rings , however they did get to play with them for an hour before lifeguard started around 11 😂 We queued up at 8am for beds as we were a family of 13 and wanted to be together, but beds were still available up until about 12ish . RESTAURANT- breakfast started at 8 , we really liked breakfast plenty of choice even though was same everyday at breakfast was plenty to choose from cooked or pastries or continental. Dinner was 1-3 we found this hit and miss as we’re picky eaters so we used the snack bar most days for dinner as that was really good and all cooked fresh . Tea was 7.30- 10 we thought this was rather late but was always good choice of food even for us picky eaters , meats was always cooked well and nice cuts of meat . Pasta and rice available as well as veggies and potatoes. Entertainment was a bit rubbish but to be fair most are, we usually make our own with their been 13 of us . It all started late too , bingo at 9 kids disco 9.30 then a different act at 10 -11 every night . We experienced the football teams while we was there and other then them pushing in the queues in restaurant they didn’t really bother us . We just started going in after them, or pushed back. Loved that bottles of water are included on all inclusive , as well as magnum ice creams . Sad that the cocktails were pre made out of machine all too sweet to drink . spirits were all cheap versions although still nice . Overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend this hotel and would go back if returning to the area . Please don’t be put off by the negative reviews ,we had a fab time !

We didn't pay all that much for our holiday staying here with 3 free entry tickets to the 3 parts of Port aventura World and we got what we paid for. The hotel is fine, the food is fine, the staff sort out your problems and the jet2 rep is there alot of the time too. The rooms are cleaned daily even if you're in when they come, they always come back when you're out. The pool is clean and there are plenty of places to sit if you can't get a bed. The hotel is a short walk to the centre and the beaches and it cost us about 7-9 euro to get a taxi to the theme parks but you could walk that too. Overall we had no complaints considering the price we paid!
