We’ve been here since 20th September we’ve noticed the chefs constantly handling meat with gloves handling chicken then onto the burgers then serving with the same gloves handling raw meat cooked meat absolutley no hygiene what so ever cross contamination is absolutley rife….. it’s now the 24th both my partner and son have both started feeling unwell both vomiting and diarrhoea… at 4 this morning we heard next door vomiting I went to reception to be told maybe ice cream mixed with alcohol is why their poorly racism at its best because where English we drink alcohol and my 6 year old it seems could be drinking alcohol very strange reply?.. infact we don’t drink ever….. I explained about next door she said maybe they drinking I’ve been and knocked on and infact the hotel and their travel agent jet 2 are very aware that this family is also vomiting and diarrhoea have been in their room for two days luckily they go home tomorrow…. Unfortunately for us we have another 6 days the food is absolutley awful the burgers are given raw see post below !!!!! the food hygiene is dispicable…. The only positive to this hotel is the water park bit it looks lovley from the outside but their defiantly infection being spread from somewhere !!! Would defiantly not recommend…. To anybody Avoid avoid !!!!!!! We can’t wait to fly home on Friday would never return would never recommend this place…

We stayed at the Best Cap Salou for 10 nights after getting married in 5 star accommodation close by in Villanova. I read the reviews before we went and was really worried. On the day of arrival we checked in and after mentioning it was our daughters birthday the three reception staff gathered some balloons and sung happy birthday 🥳 Great start. The rooms were what is expected on 3 star accommodation however they were cleaned daily and left immaculate by cleaners including fresh towels each day. The pools were good and great that you could go between pools. I would suggest going to the splash park between 1-3 pm when it is quiet however getting a bed was never an issue. Main pool Was also busy and again never an issue getting a bed. Despite the warnings to stay away from the indoor pool we were in it everyday kids loved it. It gets closed for a couple of hours to get backwashed at lunch time. Another positive was the lifeguards, they were very friendly always taking time to talk to kids and helping families with umbrellas. The bar staff do have limited English however there is a few that are fine. Once you speak to them they are fine, service is a bit slow though. Food - Is what you expect from all inclusive, caters for lots of nationalities, we did eat out last four nights of our holiday though. Snack bar is fine for chips, burgers etc. Location is also good - Tropical Restaurant at top of road is excellent great food. It is 7-10 mins in taxi in to Salou. The beach is at the hotel and is great. If considering booking this hotel be aware it is mixed nationalities probably only a small percentage British/Irish. This was probably the worst bit for us, other guests were very ignorant. Final point was the kids entertainment wasn’t great and only catered for Spanish kids. Overall for a 3 star it is what you expect, but very clean and staff were always helpful. Thanks for a good holiday 👍

My second time in salou 1st time at best cap salou hotel - please do not let your children into the small indoor warm pool . My two sons are violently ill due to this pool being dirty and over crowded. I spoke to 3 other parents their children are the same sick and diarrhoea . Reception would not accept any liability refused to get a manager for me . I fly home tomorrow and will not by any means come back to this hotel. Cleaning staff are fine rooms done as they should be - food is Awful - pool room - light fittings are loose from the wall and 2 of the air hockey machines out of order - majority of staff are unfriendly - only good thing was clean towels everyday and location

Hotel location is lovely, amazing beach! Crystal clear waters with fish all around you. Staff, some are friendly. They do have a tenancy to serve the Spanish makers first over the English. I think they have had a long season as they work upto 15hrs a day. Rooms aren't always cleaned but you just had a word with reception and they will sort it for you. Reception ladies are very friendly. Very good English. Taxi's cost around 15€ to go into Salou. Definitely a must as that's where all your shops are for your nic nacks. Now for the bad points... FOOD... the food is awful! Lots of people poorly in rooms, raw meat served to guests. You must check your food before eating it!! Not much of change in food each day. Snack bar has same food day in day out. You can eat downstairs at the bar grill. DON'T! Raw meat served to guests, we had raw chicken given to us. Expected to eat it. Awful absolutely awful. Hotel is great but food is disgusting!! We will definitely 100% won't be coming back here.

I am currently on my last day waiting around for my airport transfer. I’ve stayed here for a week was very worried after seeing the awful reviews.please don’t believe everything you read! But I can say I’ve had a really pleasant stay The hotel itself is clean most of the staff are lovely and very polite I’m all inclusive the food is average always something a little different everyday The food isn’t very hot but there are microwaves all round the restaurant Food is what you’d expect at a 3 star all inclusive tbh so I don’t know what people are expecting this isn’t the ritz! The location is beautiful right on a little cove beach and I was lucky enough to have that view from my room. There isn’t a lot in cap salou but if you want more salou is a 40 min walk away or there are buses and a taxi is around 10-13 euro I have travelled in my own and it has been perfect I’ve been on the gorgeous beach most days and walked into salou I would definitely return to this hotel as I’ve had a fantastic time and felt very safe! For people moaning about how many Spanish people stay here need to get a grip! You’re in Spain what do you expect if you want a hotel full of brits go to Blackpool! Thank you for a lovely holiday

So, after reading some of the negative reviews on here we were very apprehensive about this hotel. However as I suspected the majority of the negative reviews were deluded people with unrealistic expectations for their budget. The hotel is a very busy one for the area and yes you can expect to queue in reception if you arrive with 15 other parties when you check in. But you would at any hotel when its busy. The room standards were above what I'd experienced in a 3star hotel before and barring a bit of over enthusiastic decorating it was more than acceptable. The aircon was lovely and there's a decent sized fridge. We had a pool/sea view and a decent sized balcony. The restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner was the same one and it was sizeable and able to cope with the numbers of people. The food was varied and in my opinion exceeds what you would expect from a 3star all inclusive. I read a lot of people complaining about lack of choice and variety but I can guarantee that was not the case. Plenty of choice and I'm a very fussy eater. There was always a chef on the hot plate doing omelette fresh at breakfast and at other mealtimes different meats like beef, steaks chicken were all available fresh. If you follow the guidance on the busy times in the restaurant and follow it you will jave no problems at all. Longest we had to wait for drinks during the day at the bar was 5mins maximum and that was only due to the volume of people wanting serving. The pool area is small for a hotel this size and feels a little cramped at times but I can assure you it's the same at all the hotels in the Cap Salou area. The little beach, which is 10 seconds from the pool is perfectly placed as a different option if you don't fancy battling for space by the pool. The hotel also have a mini water park which is perfect for the younger kids but be aware that the bar there in not included in you all inclusive. The staff at the hotel were called miserable in a few reviews on here but I can assure you if you actually took time to speak to them they were very pleasant and happy to talk. They work ridiculously long hours and take great pride in thier work but are only human. The rooms were cleaned every day and all the common areas were also kept in a generally clean state. The evening entertainment starts with the kids disco which was very popular and well run and organised followed by various adults entertainment after. When you consider we paid a little over £500 for a weeks stay all inclusive and at least £200 of that is your flights and transfer, how on earth can anyone complain. Find me a hotel in England that can offer a deal like that. Bet you can't. The local are was ok with a dozen bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk or if you fancy Salou itself then it's a 40min walk or 10€ in a taxi. You can also get a local bus for 2€ per person. Salou is a decent sized town with plenty to do and a huge beach with plenty of water sports and beach bars ever 50m actually on the beach. In summary the hotel was perfect and exceeded our expectations for the money we spent. Ignore all the ridiculous nit picking reviews, god knows what they expected. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RETIRN TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN!!!!!

Somewhere in the middle sums up the week spent here. Location wise it was very pretty sitting basically at its own little cove/beach. The beach was small but ample for some family play and the water was lovely, remaining fairly shallow for some distance so easy to enjoy. The hotel has positives in the sense that it is generally well presented and clean. The children’s pool area is excellent and allows plenty of fun, even with a couple of adult level slides to enjoy. The main pool is adequate but frequented by the ‘all-inclusive’ guests. As per usual, many of these are perfectly pleasant but, as per usual, some just get plastered because they can and become increasingly more loud and obnoxious with it. All inclusive as a concept is not so bad but some who take advantage of it certainly are. Anyway… The staff were mixed in that most of the ‘worker bees’ were nice and friendly but were actually let down by the manner and behaviour of some managers. Three of such represented the restaurant. Never before have I been ‘greeted’ by such miserable people as the three that took that role on this past week. Each has a face like it’s just been slapped and they strut around like they are royalty. The hotel would be better without them. I have been a hotel manager and would NEVER have such people within my team. Reason enough never to go back. On the note of the restaurant, the food was always well cooked but there was next to no variety throughout the whole week. I know it can be hard to cater for the masses but for guests eating basically the same thing every night it got a bit tedious and almost tasteless as a result. The waiting staff worked hard and were generally nice to be around, though it often felt like they were awaiting a hard time from the managers if they dared to look like they were being nice and enjoying time with guests. Yes the restaurant has to run and function well but it’s also a major element of the guest experience. The entertainment was lacking as a whole and the supposed aqua-aerobics was embarrassing. An entertainer who very ‘ camply’ ‘danced’ to Lady Gaga on the poolside whilst everyone in the pool kind of looked uncertainly on, was about as aerobic as me lifting my glass of coke to my mouth. The V fingers across the eyes and a couple of ‘sexy’ fist pumps didn’t seem to get anyone’s heart racing. The room was fine and kept very clean, the air con more than did it’s job and there was a fridge to keep drinks cool. All fine there. Would we go again? Probably not. Would we recommend to friends? Probably not. Was it so bad? Not at all. Overall a nice week in an adequate hotel, mostly saved by the Pirate Splash area and the beach, as we have a small child.

Had 10 fantastic nights at the hotel. Great location right on the beach. The kids loved the waterpark, the heated pool and the main pool! The food was good and there was a different types of food each night, such as Mexican, Asian and seafood. The restaurent downstairs served great BBQ meat - well worth booking a slot! The hotel was very quiet at night, unlike our stay in the centre of Salou last holiday! Yes, a few plates were dirty, a lot of food was Spanish and all teh waiters/waitressers were Spanish - but what do you expect, you are in Spain! Don't let the negative reviews put you off, we had a great time there.

My Mum and I stayed at Hotel Best Cap Salou for four nights and had breakfast included. We were both getting worried before leaving whether deciding on this hotel was a good decision after reading the bad reviews but it turns out there was nothing to worry about at all! The staff on the reception were very helpful with any of our questions and were polite as well as the cleaning staff. Both my mum and I were so surprised when we came back to the room the first day with it being stocked up with essentials such as toilet roll and a clean bin and it being tidied. They do not even do this in hotels in England and around the world depending on how many nights you stay so for the fact they did this everyday when we were only staying for four nights was amazing. Furthermore, our room was the perfect size for just us two with both having a double bed each, a large bathroom and a balcony with seats and tables for us to sit on with the view of the splash pool. We had breakfast included so I can only speak for the breakfast period of the day but we loved the selection. We managed to have something a bit different every morning for breakfast which we would look forward to. The highlights for me was the omelette making station where they personalise it for you on what you would like as well as the mini pastries. I would highly recommend you get there for breakfast when it first opens to avoid crowds. When discussing the leisurely parts of the hotel we only went to the beach on site so I can't comment on the hotel's pools and entertainment. We spent one whole day at the beach and we learnt when we got there that the sunbeds and beach cafe was not owned by the hotel and the beach bar is open at 10am if you're looking for where you have to rent the sunbeds. We rented the sunbeds for the day which was £25 which we did not mind as it was our only full beach day but otherwise to rent them our daily would be expensive. The beach bar had a great selection of drinks and was very reasonable and because we were not all inclusive we found the pricing okay. The hotel's location was great for holiday makers. It had a few little holiday beach shops which sold reasonable souvenirs and essentials such as towels and sunscreen. There was a mini supermarket so you could get snacks and water and the room had a mini fridge so it was perfect for keeping food and drinks cold. Also, there was a selection of different eateries around the hotel to have a meal any time of the day, we went to route 66 which was a lovely meal and did good cocktails too! The only negative for us was that the hotel was quite far from Salou town which became a massive dilemma for us when ordering taxis. The first night we ordered a taxi at the front desk to go to Salou town and waited an hour and it did not come so that's when we decided to eat at route 66. Another day we got ready and ordered a taxi to go to Port Aventura theme park to get there for opening and we waited 40 minutes and it did not come and when we asked the front desk they said there was traffic so we ended up walking which took us one hour and twenty minutes. I do not know whether this was a problem to do with the hotel or the taxi services in Salou or location. If you're not planning on going anywhere and just staying at the hotel this is not a worry but it was a bit of a pain for us and something to reflect on in the future on whether to get a hotel nearer Salou town. In conclusion, I think everyone's experience will differ depending on what sort of holiday you are having, however from my experience of a short stay it was perfect.

Being that I have a 4y old son the kids pool is the place to be, love it. Check a few other hotels in the area and definitely is the best hotel for kids. Food is good and there's for everyone even for vegans. Room is big enough for a family of four. The staff is very nice and polite I have a big complain the internet service is the worst I had, it does not exist. still using old 2.4ghz repeaters so there's no speed , no sefice you can connect but when you have less than 1Mbps it's impossible in our days to even try to use it.
