We booked this place very last minute so we have had no time to read any reviews etc. If we knew half of what we'd experience we'd never spend this much money on this kind of experience. The location is only good if you want to spend all your time in the park. If that's your aim though, then it's very convenient. The parking is SO full, we did not dare to move our car until the check out. The wifi does not work at all. And Covid precautions were a joke. Nobody respected social distance or masks. And the reason was clear, cause it was SO crowded, you could barely see your own feet when you were walking. The room they gave to us was on ground floor and smelled like mold. There was nowhere to dry a towel after the pool and since there was no sunshine in the room our towels would remain damp for days. The cleanness and housekeeping services were ok at best. One day, the housekeeping moved all of our luggage and bathroom items and reorganized as they pleased, we were shocked that they touched our stuff. Horrible sleep quality and sound proofing in the rooms. You can ask why we did not complain to the management. The reason is simple. NOBODY speaks English. Some do a little, but it's not enough to hold a decent conversation. We asked the same question to 3 different people and received 3 different answers. And the food.... If you have not bought half board you are dead anyways. Cause the restaurants and bars in the park are horrible. Within the hotel there's an a la carte restaurant and a buffet. The restaurant is ok with decent food and a bit high prices and ok service. But the buffet is horrible! First, you have to wait in the line for 15 minutes to get in and then battle crowds to get some food. And then they ask you to leave your table after 45 minutes cause they have a new wave coming in. I am on vacation, I don't want to feed myself, I want to enjoy what I eat. Still, financially the demi pension is the best way to go but I did not enjoy it one bit. In summary, even my 6 years old child hated the experience. We'd never return but we saw many happy families so maybe it's a matter of what to expect from vacation.

After a busy day in the park, the need of a relaxed dinner was what we needed, around 20:10 we arrived at the buffet del port, for the hotels buffet. We sat down and waited for the waitress to arrive and take a drink order. When she did we ordered 2 glasses of white wine for thestarters and then we went to get starters, a small plate combined with very nice olives, hummus selection og 2 types of cheese and 2-3 piece of nice tapas brushetta. We where in no hurry since we wanted to relax and enjoy ( not eat much ) just enjoy and order a bottle of red with next plate. And a nice drink after dinner with coffie and small cake., you get the idea , just a relaxed date night. But around 20:50 when we where waiting to get the waitress attention to order a bottle, another staff member, came over with the check for the 2 glass of white whine, only that. since we paid 50€ at the enterance for the buffet, so we paid 58 €, and she said we had to leave, couse the resturant was getting ready for the next round of guests, what ever that means!! So a little shocked we left, to our room and took shower. After the shower i desided to contact, the shift manager Think her name was linda, she asked me to come down to the desk, and i did, i arrived like 3 minutes later and she was busy, and her colleague , just handed out a form and asked me to fill it out!! what a lack of interest , to make up for this terrible service, and im only here for to night so how should this form help to make our stay more plesant. I have no tolerance with this kind of service level, so i just said that i had no intrest in filling out a form, if this couldint be adressed at that time. Went over to the coffieshop for a cappochino and now went hungry to bed and very dissapointed in my choise of hotel. Stayin in room 3123,lets see if interest to make the stay more enjoyable for us grows after this review.

Happy enthusiastic and helpful staff. Beautiful pool that’s never busy. Great food. Perfect for families but you do need the fast pass for the park so make sure you budget for it. Don’t understand negative reviews.

From the moment you arrive at the hotel, you are herded into corrals waiting for at least 90 minutes before you can be checked in. The aggressive and rude staff ensure that all the tourists remained submissive. The Spanish visitors have the benefit of automatic machines that read their documents very easily but these machines are not available to anybody using a passport. The rooms are delightful if you are an ant and enjoy the company of your colleagues or alternatively if you are a mouse and you wish to live with other mice. It is also useful for these creatures to have water leaking out of the toilet so that they can have a drink. It is pointless going to the park unless you are prepared to pay for the fast access pass which costs in excess of €160 for a family of four. If you can't afford that, you might get on two or 3 rides during the day. Then comes the new concept of food they have which is called Delion which is simply a reduced menu put into glass cabinets and you are served by inattentive staff. The choice is vastly reduced in previous years and the quality of the ingredients is also significantly reduced. On the main course table, the best I could find was some dried out pizza and a tough piece of meat which I think was lamb. Even the deserts where poor quality. We had booked for two nights but left after the first night and secured a beautiful two bedroom apartment in Salou for €200. Had we stayed a further night in Portaventura hotel, it would cost an additional €570! I do not recommend staying in the complex. Pierre et Vacannces provide far superior accommodation.

Visited in 2019, good hotel that has been benefited through its renovation. Rooms look very nice and polished with a nice ocean expedition feel, however, outside of children’s channels, TV does not have any English channels (BBC News being the only one from my experience). Also, in our room, the holder for the TV was slightly bent, off with the good looking quality but expect it’s been addressed. Short convenient distance to park and Salou and pool is nice with various palm trees overlooking it, restaurant also has decent food including an unusual square shaped pizza perfect for a sharing group (Maybe it’s a cultural thing?) Overall, best hotel to choose if you want to be close to Portaventura and staff provide welcoming service.
