Had a last minute change to this hotel as the hotel we were booked in had to close due to covid. Everything was very good, hotel was clean and measures put in place to ensure guests safety while staying there
This was one of the only main hotels still open due to COVID but I’m glad we went as it was lovely. There was parking for €6 a night which was cheap compared to other places. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach with a direct gate to take you down. It 5 minutes to the marina and maybe 10-15 to some of the other bars and restaurants all a lovely walk down the beach. Our room had a lovely balcony looking over the pool and the bathroom was huge. The room was slightly dated but very clean and spacious. The pool area is amazing and very well kept with a lifeguard on and bar area. Well worth the money and if we came back I would stay here again.
Hotel is very close to the beach. Very handy .Staff was very helpful and nice.We find very bad when drinks for lunches and dinners are not included , you have to pay for them ,even water .Hotel don’t offer all included option. Well- rooms are very spacious with balcony and beds was very comfy , those are small double size for each person, which is very good. Pool side are great with good sun beds which is important . There is exit to the beach . WiFi do work true all hotel and poolside , we find was ok and it’s free. Also there is safe in each room free of charge . We took all 3 meals and we did find the best was breakfast .. but I guess it’s depends of person . Everyone is different .
We upgraded to a superior sea front room on arrival. The room on the 7th floor was fantastic with 180 degree views of the sea, marina and down towards windmill roundabout. We have stayed in this hotel for the last 3 years and have to say that it is looking a bit tired now. The carpets are very worn etc. The curtain rail in our room fell down the first time we drew back the black out curtain at approximately 10.00pm, we reported it to reception on our way out that night and it was fixed by the time we returned 2 hours later. Very impressed. The staff are very courteous and polite particularly the young man in the bar who couldn't do enough for us and everyone else, always with a smile. We did get trapped in the lift which stopped between floors having hit a pigeon! We tried the emergency bell and the telephone which wasn't answered and had we not been able to make some other guests aware of the situation we dare not think what might have happened. The lifts are glass and at about 12.30 pm it was getting extremely hot. Luckily the young guy from the bar run around and managed to get a maintenance man to clear the pigeon and get us moving again. We were surprised that no one from the hotel checked that we were okay and there was nobody to meet us when we finally got out. The only person that spoke of this incident was, you guessed it, the bar guy who apologised. The maid service is daily and good. We were on bed and breakfast and unfortunately although the food at breakfast was plentiful with a good variety to suit most tastes the"hot" food was invariably cold. Early in our stay we could have eggs cooked while we waited but after about 9.45 they were only available pre-cooked and like the rest of the food were cold. All that being said it was the end of season and that may have some bearing on the points above. We will probably look to book again next year because of the room and the proximity of the hotel to all the amenities but we will be surprised if the Triton keeps its 4 star rating without some serious improvements starting with a full refurb.…
