I stayed almost a week on Colonsay, based at the hotel. Wonderful weather made the trip special, but this review should be about the hotel, not the weather! I had the single room, and as others have said, the private bathroom is quite a hike away down the corridor. But remember that it's a small hotel so in reality it's...

Since visiting Colonsay some years ago the hotel is under new management and has undergone a considerable transformation. Unlike many highland hotels you won't find a sea of tartan and the usual traditional fittings. Instead the decor is modern, tasteful and very much in keeping with the relaxed nature of the island. A well stocked, reasonably priced bar is a...

Small, intimate, quiet, a step down to the sea. Painted wooden floors and log fires. A welcoming bar. Lovely room with a window seat from which to view the little port. A divinely comfortable bed and Pierre Frey fabrics. Lovely nettle soup for lunch and a marvellous dinner. Cheerful, helpful staff. I could have stayed and stayed...

This is Colonsay's only hotel and is also the base for the Colonsay Estate office (which basically runs the island). It is a good place for tourist-related advice. It offers meals specially-designed to fit in with ferry departures. It has warm and comfortable bars and also a restaurant (reviewed separately). The bar hosts quiz and music evenings. This is the...

I stayed at the Colonsay Hotel for four nights in Port Lobh, which is a comfortable single room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely furnished with log fires and lots of wood. The food is very good and not too expensive. While the bathroom for the single room is quite a long way away,...

Rooms arent huge but perfectly equipped, quiet and both comfortable and well furnished. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly ; nothing is a problem. The food - both at breakfast and dinner - is superb. Excellent use of local ingreditns such as salmon, oysters and honey ; and good local Colonsay gin and beer in bar

Have just stayed here for three nights and enjoyed our stay so much. The hotel is spotless, beautifully decorated and with lovely cosy fires, providing the most relaxing surroundings. Staff were very friendly and helpful and Ivan does a great job as manager. We would stay again.

This review is written a little late, myself and my husband stayed at The Colonsay hotel in early October '16. We enjoyed three nights for the price of two on a special deal which was excellent value for money. The staff were absolutely lovely, so helpful, attentive and professional. We are both vegans and the kitchen and waiting on staff...

Our first visit, this hotel is a gem. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and Ivan who runs the hotel was brilliant; cannot speak more highly in this regard. The food is excellent and the rooms very comfortable with all amenitiesprovided. The quality is greater than expected, well managed, but yet very informal. We loved it, and would recommend...

We have visited this hotel on many occasions and cannot speak highly enough of it. The place is spotless and homely with a touch of luxury, the staff friendly and welcoming (especially Ivan!) and the food is wonderful with lots of local produce on the menu. We visited this time with friends for a week and nothing was too much...
