Madrid is veryyy expensive. The Holiday Inn Express is a great alternative if you don't mind a 25 min journey into town. The train station is a 3 min walk from the hotel, only only €5 for a return ticket. You can also get a multi day pass if you're going back and forth often. The hotel is good value at $90 (CAD) for a big spacious room with nice beds and a nice bathroom (note: good shower). Very good breakfast buffet and staff are helpful and friendly. Only negative was weak wifi.
The hotel is well located in Tres Cantos, a suburb of Madrid (20km far). The hotel is not expensive and the rooms are spacious, however the building and furniture are a bit old and should be refurbished. The staff is very friendly and servicial, the best of the hotel.
This hotel is located at about 30' by train from Madrid central station and at walking distance (5') from Tres Cantos train stop. It is ideal for a short business trip. The receptions were very kind and friendly. The room was spatious, including a sofa and a desk. There are no wardrobes or shelves for the clothes, but the room has an iron and ironing board and a tea/coffee machine. Regarding the part that could be improved: the hotel should offer some blankets as the air conditioning is non-adjustable and it was very cold during the night (the bed had only a thin sheet as a cover). The breakfast choice could also be refreshed, as many of the products were not fresh (e.g., hard croissants and pains-au-chocolat, cold boiled eggs, etc.) I guess the ratio price-quality is Ok for a hotel in Madrid area.…
The hotel is about a 5-10min walk to the station, which is a 30 min journey to Madrid city centre. The area is very safe but we didn't see much around the hotel itself, apart from a café. We were told there was a market nearby and Tres Cantos park, a couple of minutes' walk from Holiday Inn, which we didn't have time to see. Being on a Hendo, we were more concerned in visiting Madrid Centre. My room was basic but clean. The bathtub seem exceptionally small! If you are after a cheap budget hotel, out of the city centre but still within a reasonable reach, this hotel is ideal. Tip: Ask the hotel about the best train tickets to Madrid Metro, depending on how many days you are travelling. Pro: Great choice for budget hotel for couple of nights stay Con: Tiny bath tub
Aside from the very comfortable beds, clean, quiet and very safe area, this hotel has the best staff ever! From the early check in to the professional assistance in a medical emergency at check out, the entire staff could not have helped us more. I had to go by ambulance to hospital after we had already checked out. They kept our luggage safe and saved us a room for another night in case we could not go on to our next destination. We were so grateful to have a room in a now familiar hotel when the hospital released me. My husband, adult daughter and I would not hesitate to stay here again! Hotel is very convenient to Madrid, Segovia, and Avila. Mountain View’s are so pretty. Thank you!
