Good points: 1. The room was HUGE, as was the bathroom and all in all was very very nice and comfortable. 2. The lady who managed it was super friendly, chatty and very nice. 3. Rascafria is a lovely little town. 4. The vanilla soap in the bathroom was lovely, and the room generally provided everything you would need for a stay. Bad points: 1. We were left standing outside for a while when we got there as the manager had gone to lunch. It took 2 phonecalls to get somebody to come let us in. 2. The rooms are very noisy. If somebody in another room is flushing a toilet, or having a shower or even just talking then you are going to hear it. 3. The weekday breakfast isn't good. I was hoping for some Spanish omelette and a latte for breakfast but the espresso machine was broken and omelette is only at weekends apparently so my breakfast was a slice of toast, a glass of orange juice and about 3 spoonfulls of a not very nice cereal. And that for €7.50 was crazy. I would stay here again I suppose but not without looking elsewhere first…
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back! Quaint little rural hotel with super friendly owners, Beatriz and her sons really make you feel at home. The bed was huge and really comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful, a real treat for a getaway from the city. The breakfast was generous and delicious with homemade cakes and tortilla, ham, toast, yogurt, croissants, good coffee, couldn't ask for more!
We found it accidentally but it has been one of the most pleasant discoveries lately. The place is located in the center of Rascafria but in a very quiet street. The owner got everything right to be perfect host. Helpful but not intrusive, kind, attentive, insights about the area. Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated according to a rural house. Top rooms might get a bit warm in the summer but nothing that opening the window can't fix. You enjoy free wifi and a sitting room for reading and watching tv if you don't feel at staying at the room. Breakfast is served at the kitchen with a wide range of products, including churros on Sundays (tip: try the Spanish homemade omelette, one of the best). If you are new to the area, I would suggest to ask the owner for tips and insights, she saved us a couple of times about what to do. Definitely recommend this place if you want to spend a weekend in the Sierra de Guadarrama.…
Quiet village that comes to life when Madrilenos in search of rest, relaxation and an escape from the scorching heat of the summer are arriving for the weekend. Close to Monasterio El Paular which offers guided tours by its Benedictine Monks. A delight!
The hotel is in the middle of quiet village. Ideal for a romantic getaway. All rooms are beautifully decorated and no two are alike. The staff were attentive. The jacuzzi at extra charge but worth it. The walks around the area are very nice and you can also go mountain biking or visit the nearby monastery Paular or bathing in the natural pools Presillas.
