This bills itself as a 4 star hotel and on some levels it is. IE rooftop swimming pool with hot tub. It's the basics where it seems to fall down. First thing we noticed when entering the room was no tea/coffee making facilities. We regard that as a norm anywhere these days. The room temperature was set at 23. Way too hot even in the first week of March. The toilet paper was very poor for a 4 star. The bed a king size was good. The breakfast buffet was OK though they used wine glasses that didn't fit under the fresh orange juice dispenser so spillages were the norm. They should have small tumblers for this. Variety on the buffet was ok and they kept it topped up. Watch out for the extras. We were charged 18 euros a day for parking the car in their own underground car park. Location is pretty poor for central Madrid. It's a long way out. I was told 30 minutes on the local train. There are a few restaurants within a few minutes walk but they are limited. Very little to do in the immediate vicinity.…
I just returned from Madrid after staying at Hotel Amura for a week. The hotel isn’t that far from downtown and was an easy cab or train ride away. We were in town for a soccer specific trip with a large group so we were not looking for a hotel in the city center. The room was clean and comfortable. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel each day and the food was good. All staff at the hotel was both friendly and helpful. The wait staff in the restaurants and bar did a great job. Yasir and Lourdes both stand out for their service and friendliness. I would recommend the hotel and would stay again.
Too far out if you are looking for a city break. Zone B on metro. There are no external restaurants in the immediate vicinity . The reception and lobby are stylish and give you a false sense of security. The rooms are pretty basic with NO TEA and COFFEE making facilities only a hugely overpriced mini bar. Even the cheapest hotels give you this. Obviously you can buy tea and coffee from restaurant which again is very expensive. There is also no iron or trouser press and only 4 hangers which for a couple is not sufficient. Pool area, gym and sauna are very dated. I would say this hotel is ‘All grills and no knickers’. We used the pre-booked shuttle twice which is a great service but required due to the location and it was late once. I would not recommend this hotel.
The hotel is modern and delivers on what it promises. A good room, a good breakfast, a very nice experience at the (heated) rooftop pool and fitness. The location may be average if you want to see Madrid but this is more of a business place and is relatively close to the airport.
This hotel will charge you if you need an extra towel!!!!’ So crazy!!!! Never heard a single hotel ever that charges fir a towel!!! The room is SO small, we can barely walk by the beds, house cleaner was rude, poor quality beds, furnitures, everything was so old. So over priced! I would never ever stay here again!
