A fabulous place where antiquity merges with modern comfort. Myriad courtyards with burbling water features, plants and birds. Very relaxed with excellent service. It's located a stone's throw from Almagro's main square. A beautiful unspoilt space.
This Parador has a friendly staff and beautiful area. We had a nice room and a very good breakfast. Reception lady was accurate and friendly. The Parador is easy to find and there is free parking. Also a beautiful garden.
Perfectly located at the edge of Almagro's historic town centre. Only 5 minutes walk to the Plaza Mayor, the famous main square. The room was spacious and quiet with a full size bath. I loved the fact that the public areas are decorated with antique furniture and paintings that reflect the age and origins of this hotel.
My husband is a lover of history so this has been on our list for while. It was absolutely worth it. Almagro is a beautiful compact Spanish town which is still fuelled by its history. The plaza mayor is a must and just walking around the town to get a real feel for it. Several nice cafes to sit at and people watch and just enjoy the scenery.
Like most Paradors, this building is beautiful inside and out. Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and ample parking. Unfortunately dinner did not quite come up to the standard we expected but the breakfast was superb, large selection of cereals, fruit, cheese, ham, breads etc. together with cooked breakfast. Would certainly stay again.
Such a lovely parador, a really historical building, the staff were all helpful and very friendly. The room was very comfortable, beautifully clean, nice and warm, a very comfortable bed. We ate in the bar instead of the restaurant, the service was very good and the food was tasty
Stayed in seven paradors over the course of a southern Spain driving trip and this one was my favourite. Built on the grounds of the early 17th century Convento Franciscano de Sta Catalina, you are attracted by the quiet elegance of the place. At times the colours are bright; other times, muted. You are just minutes away from the local plaza mayor. Parking is available at the parador. The room was of decent size. My only worry was the shower floor was dangerously slippery. Covid measures are in place with hand gel on offer. The bar area has a television if you need your sports’ fix over a drink. Breakfast and dinner were taken in the former refectory. The dinner was good even if my Irish coffee morphed into an espresso. These things happen. Staff were efficient. If you need the chic of some paradors this one may not be for you. If you like history and a tastefully renovated property, this one is a gem.…
This Parador ticks all the right boxes for me: beautifully restored and elegant 16th century mansion, fascinationg historical town, amazing natural environment in Daimiel and Ruidera, excellent service, high-quality food and wine.
Wow, wow, wow, what a beautiful accommodation. Parador de Almagro is a stunningly beautiful hotel and oozes history. Our room was spacious and had delightful Spanish decor, both in the room and throughout the hotel. Our room overlooked the pool area. The shutters on the windows helped keep the room cool as it was very hot. Bathroom was clean and tidy with an excellent shower. The pool was lovely, it was nice to have a swim and then a snooze on the loungers. Towels are provided by the poolside. We had a drink in the back courtyard in the afternoon and this was accompanied by nibbles. For our evening meal we were in a different courtyard, it was beautiful and lit very well, there are lots of dishes to choose from. Breakfast the next morning was in the same courtyard as the evening meal, there were various meats available as well as fruit and cereal, I believe you could also order a cooked breakfast. All in all, I don't think even my review has done it justice as to how beautiful it was and Almagro the town itself, but I would highly recommend it and advise you to go see for yourself, I am positive you will come away with the same feeling we did about this place.…
Definitely worth a stay. Happy to return. Old monastery building made a calming atmosphere, which made our stay relaxing, helping us get into the Holiday mood in this troubling COVID time. Not on our route home but have already recommended
