Clean and functional rooms, quite basic but everything you need is there, including good WiFi. Friendly and helpful staff, well situated for cafés, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was good and if you’ve got a sweet tooth you’ll not be disappointed plenty of cake and even flan is available as well as breads, cereal, fruit, cheese etc.
Our coach party arrived in Almagro expecting to stay at the Hotel Almagro but it was all closed up, it seems the owners had done a runner! Our group leader rushed around to try and find alternatives, and the group split between three establishments. The Hospederia, The Parador (for a supplement) and we were allocated this hotel. It is small but nicely formed and that includes the rooms. Everything is clean and modern, and we had a good breakfast. The staff were very helpful, as the hotel was full of students they made sure our rooms were not adjacent to them and that we got into breakfast before them! The Town was disappointing for an evening out as a lot of restaurants were shut but our cultural tour the next day showed us a lot more.
We normally stay in the Retiro de Maestro but it was being refurbished, the same family own this hotel just off the main road but not quite as upmarket. We were quite happy with it as we enjoy the town and especially the little bars around the ancient square.
