Hmmm, I’ll start with the good, er, I mean GREAT! The two guys working at the front desk were completely AMAZING! Anything I asked for, they were on the spot fast! It;s like they knew what I wanted before I even asked them for it. Towels? No worries; restaurant recommendations? No problem. They hustled and seemed happy to be there. Didn’t experience housekeeping, but unlike a lot of places these days, housekeeping is daily, so if you don’t need it or want it, be sure to hang the Do Not Disturb sign out front of your room! That’s a pleasant surprise, but if you’re sleeping in that day, the knock on the door and “HOUSEKEEPING” being yelled is not a pleasant wake up call lol. I wouldn’t say “yelled”, but they were persistent until my wife went to the door and said “no thanks, not today”… So, we stayed here because we needed to be in the area and my wife was working remotely starting at a very early hour, so we wanted a place that had a separate bedroom and living/working space. This place was pretty much the only one in the area, and we got HH Honors points for staying so that was how we decided. The room was very quiet, we never heard any noise from the hall or the other rooms. There is an adjacent rail line, but we only heard the train once in the five days we stayed there, and that was late at night, not really loud, and not bothersome. Okay - that’s the good. I’ll ding the room for some cleanliness issues - mold on the ceiling over the shower, some odd looking “substance” on the drapes, a little on the smelly side of style cigarette smoke possibly from a guest like several months ago - nothing horrible that we couldn’t get over, or get used to. There were maintenance issues such as the bathtub faucet trickling even when the faucet was all the way off, a thermostat that chirped throughout the night from a low battery, etc. A small safety issue was that the smoke detector in the main room was GONE. Either it had a battery chirp and a guest took it apart, or a previous guest was a smoker and it went off. Either way, I say it’s a small issue as there was “whole” smoke detector in the bedroom so if there were a fire, I’m sure tear one would have sounded. Let me say that none of these issues (as bad as I made them out to be) was enough to make us want to leave, or even change rooms. They were bothersome, but we were on a two week trip and had a lot of luggage - didn’t want to go through the trouble of repacking and unpacking, so we didn’t even report the issues to the staff except on the online feedback form we got over email after our stay. Really, housekeeping SHOULD have referred the room to maintenance before the room went back into inventory, but that didn’t happen. Pictures of these issues are attached to the post. FYI - If you want ice at this place, be sure to turn on the ice maker on the moment you walk in the room. Why? Because they don’t have ice machines, so you have to wait an hour before getting enough ice to fill your glass. It is probably like this at all Homewood Suites around the world, it’s just been years since I’ve stayed at Homewood, so I didn’t remember. This didn’t really bother us, but some of the guests are clearly living at the hotel. Even though the weather was nice except for a stray thunderstorm, there were always people sitting out front on the chairs chatting, or in the breakfast area, but not for whatever reason out by the pool in the more comfortable pool chairs. But the people who were there, including children who one would think should be in school, were milling about all day and at night, and they were always the same exact people - no matter what time of day! I get it - it’s an extended stay hotel, and really there’s nothing that they can or even should be doing about it. Just be aware. Overall - it’s a decent place, the rooms are spacious, and the staff is beyond excellent.…
This was the 4th or 5th time I have stayed at this hotel. My suite was clean and comfortable. The only problem I had during my stay was that the laundry room had been vandalized. Julian directed me to a nearby laundromat where I was able to get my laundry done. Hopefully they can get the machines repaired soon. Everything else was fine - it was nice to have a kitchen with all the utensils and pots and pans. I really appreciated the delicious breakfast - there were to-go styrofoam boxes with items like hot scrambled eggs, sausages, and fried potatoes. It certainly beats their competition's day after day, same breakfast bag with muffin and apple. The hotel is convenient to NASA and to a variety of nice restaurants. I will stay here again.
My family and I had to come because of Hurricane Ida. It was last minute and the accommodated in every way they could. Very attentive staff and great customer service. The room were clean and sanitized. Kid friendly. Over all great experience
Roaches in room. "Brown Smudge" on bathroom door. Unidentified brown goo on cabinet handle under the kitchen sink. When i told the front deck they gaged at the pictures and then asked if i needed a receipt. Nothing more.
In my business travels I always book Homewood when I can. This one is the cream of the crop. From the front desk to perfect suites. Everything is exactly the way it should be. Clean dry and serviceable. Rooms are spotless and well appointed. Quiet area for work when you need it. Pool is nice and near by grocery store let’s you use the grills!
