Took our first family cruise ever and needed a place to stay for the night that didn’t cost $400. Man, when they say you get what you pay for!! Customer service was lacking. The attitude from the late night shift lady was awful. She claimed they had no extra towels, no extra blankets, oh and surprisingly when we asked for an iron and ironing board the next morning she had miraculously ran out. The night before she was sleeping and clearly didn’t want to be bothered. She even called us 3 times during our road trip to know what time exactly would we arrive. No friends, they were not sold out, she simply wanted to know when she should be in the office. The next morning…🤣 30 minutes prior to us walking out, housekeeping opened our door without knocking and shouted, “You guys gotta be outta here by 11!” 🤯 If we hadn’t experienced such an awful run down should be condemned motel, we wouldn’t have believed it. I don’t do many reviews as you can see, but this made me feel like I need to start reviewing more often. I don’t have words for the danger of the railings. How is this place still open and why are people giving them 4 stars?? Look at my pictures. We stayed there March 1, 2024. If you’ve ever watched the TV Show, “Martin” this is the closest thing to Chilligans Island! ROTFL Are you needing to save money? You’re better off sleeping in your car.

Our credit card was charged $225.64 for "automobile parking and garage" by Scottish Inn, when we were told we had free parking at the hotel while on our 5-day Carnival Cruise. Sheronica, with Sister Shuttle, took out party of four, to the ship on Monday morning and picked us up that following Saturday morning, bringing us back to Scottish Inn to pick up our vehicle. (We were on the ship from Monday, 2-12-24 until Saturday, 2-17-24). We each paid Sheronica $20.00 for her to shuttle us, $80.00 total), PLUS, we tipped them $30.00, and the other 2 people with me and my husband ALSO tipped the shuttle drivers), so roughly we paid $130-140 for them to get us to and from the ship. Again, one of the perks for staying there at the Scottish Inn there in Galveston was the perk of getting to park our vehicle there in the hotel parking lot, FREE OF CHARGE. But after returning home, I called my credit card company to reconcile my purchases on the Carnival ship, and discovered that Scottish Inn had charged my credit card on Wednesday, 2-14-24, for $225.64, and the description for the charge was "automobile parking lot/garage". I immediately called the hotel to inquire as to why I was charged, spoke to Sheronica, but she could not give me the reason, nor could she resolve it. She told me the owner, Taq Lamb, would be in on Tuesday, and they'd be getting to the bottom of it. I have not received ONE phone call back from ANYONE, although I have called them numerous times, trying to get answers. This is total incompetence, and very shady business to fraudulently charge someone's credit card four days after they had checked out of their hotel (and on the day they charged my card, which was on Wed. 2-14-24, Valentine's Day), I was ON THE SHIP, ON MY CRUISE. Just beware that someone working there at that hotel is obviously not being honest. I should have been contacted by SOMEONE to let me know how that happened and how they were going to correct it. I have had to cancel my credit card, for fear someone there at the hotel has my credit card information and could potentially use it again. I am also disputing the charge with my credit card company. I will NEVER use this hotel again! One other note: Being as I booked the hotel through Expedia, I called their Customer Service department and told them what happened. They opened up a case on them, because they said when THEY tried to call Scottish Inn to speak to them on this matter, they hung up on them.

The hotel IS old, but they did their best to accommodate us. There are no new owners, as others have said. The remotes do not match the tv's, that was a move to another room. The remodel update is BAD. The people that work there are very nice, and the room was very clean. My socks did not get dirty on the floors! I would never stay there again.

The new owners are making incremental improvements to this property. Overall, we had a good stay that included free cruise parking. And, it's located within a couple of miles to the new RCL cruise terminal. The room we had been assigned had been freshened up, had new bedding, it was clean and had everything needed. Be aware that here are no elevators at this proprty. The parking lot can be difficult to navigate for larger vehicles. Entering and exiting the property can be tricky if there's a lot of ferry traffic. Based on our experience, it's a good value for the money.

I paid extra because everything online said they offer a free cruise shuttle- they Do Not. they offer free parking, which would have been nice except you'll spend the same on ubers or a taxi than you would on just parking at the cruise terminal. The room itself was ok. definitely needs some work- but it's old. they jack up the prices for the cruises as well. What is normally a $75 a night hotel goes up to $229 (including tax) on cruise weekends... might be worth $75. NOT worth more than that. save your money and go a few miles down the road.

We checked in and the first room had what looked like bugs in the bed and the cover had stains. Went and asked for a new room, they moved is no problem. 2nd room, mold on the bottom beds...or something worse. It was nasty! Bathrooms were nice but hairdryer had her all over it and looked dirty. Railing outside was rusted and falling apart or held together with zip ties or caution tape. We left and booked a room elsewhere. Do not recommend! Spend a little more for something cleaner.

I selected this motel as it was close to the cruise port, and offered free cruise parking. It was a great choice. It’s located a few steps from the water near the ferry landing. Most of the motels I’ve stayed at have suspended breakfast due to Covid…not here. They had a nice continental breakfast with real orange juice ( one of my pet peeves is the chemical laden fake juice, so this was a positive point). The staff was pleasant and room was clean. There is a pool and surroundings are peaceful. It’s not fancy but is better quality than most of the budget chain motels I’ve stayed at in recent years.

Did not like: 1. Swimming pool did not work 2. WiFi is terrible - mostly did not work 3. Room service was not available - had to get coffee, towels from Service Desk 4.TV Remote did not work - they had to get somebody to fix it 5. Parking and floors are nasty 6. Window and blinds - just there, buy they do not move. Actually - you can not enjoy Gulf breeze and you are locked in dark box

This is really a little hidden gem. No, it's not the Hilton, BUT if you're looking for a quiet, clean and relatively inexpensive room this is it. The bed was quite comfortable . We didn't have to scramble for parking. We were able to park in the exact same covered parking the whole time. There is a light breakfast offered..cereal, bananas, toast, oatmeal, doughnuts, juice, coffee, ect. We will definitely return.

Closed in off season. May 2021 but they failed to notify booking agent. Took our $ and let us stay. We were only ones there. Had problems room key. Staff was not around. Would not answer main number and phone message box full. Had to try several numbers before we finally conected with someone. Window blinds would not close properly. A.C. did not work properly. Foul word back side of bathroom door. Faucets about to fall off sink. Wood rotting on railings. Only place I have ever stayed at with my weapon on night stand. Did not feel safe at all. When we relieve about bad places in our lives this place will be on top two.
