Based solely on earlier reviews, we decided to stay here with family over Thanksgiving. If you want to be right in Fredericksburg, this is not the place for you. It is a few miles out of town at a private airport. Don't be fooled by the rather utilitarian look of the place from the outside. When you walk inside, it...

Fredericksburg is the Texas Hill Country home of Adm. Chester Nimitz, Chief of U.S. Naval Operations in the Pacific during World War II. Following this theme, an Air Force aircraft hangar has been renovated and transformed into an outstanding facility just outside of the main part of Fredericksburg (located at the general aviation airport) called Hangar Hotel. Hangar Hotel offers...

Felt a little like being at an airforce base in the Pacific during WW2. From the period decor, to the 1940's era Officers' Club, it was a great place to stay. Very clean and and well maintained, great staff, and comfortable rooms. And maybe the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Ending the evening with a few drinks in...

We booked this hotel for an anniversary weekend. My husband is a pilot and loved the décor and the observation deck. The staff was so nice and accommodating. We loved the Officers Club. The entertainment was so nice. We will definitely go back!!

I recently stayed at the Hangar Hotel during the week to pick up an aircraft and fly it back to the East Coast. This place is a true gem for any pilot or anyone interested in aviation. The premises are nicely decorated and give an atmosphere of an old officer's club. The rooms are spacious and have great bathrooms. The...

This area of Texas has its shopping and eating and wine tours, but this hideaway at the edge of town is by far the best destination. Situated at the active Fredericksburg airport, this is a totally updated and modern nod to the World War II era. Constructed in an old hangar, the hotel is fitted with retro furnishings specific to...

It is ultra clean and staffed with welcoming and friendly staff. The chocolate cookies were still warm when we checked in as we were greeted with a...

I had my eye on this hotel for months before we finally got to stay there. My husband is crazy about airplanes, and the "Hangar" angle was perfect. The C47 out front caught his eye immediately, and he was hooked. Watching the airstrip was fun. Lots of interesting planes, and even a homemade helicopter-it was fascinating, even to me. The...

I only have one bed... I mean bad thing to say about this place, the rock hard bed kept me awake all night. Easy solution, bring a foam topper. Seriously, it's worth the extra hassle of packing the thing to stay there! Walking into the hotel lobby is like stepping into the elegant 40's. The theme is carried out through...
