We hiked among polar bears, wolves, arctic foxes, arctic hares, snowy owls, and other arctic animals. Dining with each of these animals right outside the windows. The northern lights overhead at night. This place is truly magical. The owners, Mike and Jeannie, and their son Adam, and the staff, take excellent care of their guests. It's like visiting a family...

I will never forget the experiences I had at Seal River - being feet, and sometmes just inches, from gorgeous, immense polar bears in their native habitat. Yes, it's a splurge for most of us, but a once in a lifetime journey.

My time at Seal River Heritage Lodge facilitated seeing polar bears in the wild plus the Northern Lights, two things I'd long wanted to see, so it quickly became a special place for me. The lodge has a cosy communal space and I like the 'family style' meals together at tables in the dining room. The food served is delicious;...

We came here two years ago (see our review 14/8/14) and the lodge at Seal River was even better - new rooms (with lighter wood) and a larger lounge. The rooms, food, staff and guides were all as great as they were last time - there was even grapefruit flavoured beer! Polar bears all over the place again - and...

Where do I start with Seal River Heritage Lodge? I went on the Polar Bear Photo Safari and arrived at the lodge in mid October. The process of getting to the lodge was very smooth and exciting as we watched for wildlife from a bush plane. At Seal River Heritage Lodge, it was all about the details. You can bet...

This review is for the "Bears, Birds and Belugas" trip to Seal River Heritage Lodge in early August 2016. The lodge is located a short flight from Churchill on the shore of a vast, flat expanse of Artic Tundra. Polar Bears land in this area each Spring when the ice on Hudson Bay melts. They lounge around while waiting for...

Hi crazy4nature! Thank you so much for your kind words! To answer your question about drones, this was indeed a rare occurrence that was a result of a special request from a professional photographer who had been to our lodges many times in the past. We agree with you, and also think that drones, even in the best of hands,...

My husband and I recently returned from a 'bucket-list' trip to see the polar bears. And bears we saw! They were so close to us I could have touched them, but managed to keep my hands on my side of the fence. We were fortunate to have a Nat Geo photographer on the trip (see his review), which made the...

I'm a Nat Geo photographer working on a book about wild places. I was lucky enough to do two back-to-back departures with Churchill Wild these past two weeks on their Arctic Safari journeys. Everything has already been said about Seal River - beautiful, cozy wood lodge, bears galore (one so close he fogged my lens at the fence), lucky wolf...

What an experience! Truly fabulous! Have talked about my experience in Seal River to everyone I met since I came back! It was simply amazing! The place looks fabulous! You do see lots of polar bear. And the 2 guides, Andy and Teri, which by the way are simply brilliant, will make sure they do all they can to take...

Seal River Heritage Lodge is just amazing. Swimming with beluga whales is the most magical thing ever. Put this experience together with the most wonderful hosts Mike and Jeanne, their marvellous family and fantastic staff and you are looking at one of the best holidays you can wish for. The lodge itself is wonderfully clean and homely, with excellent accommodation...
