We had a wonderful stay in the Big Easy cabin at Artesian Lakes. The cabin was very clean. Our group consisted of 18 people, including 10 teenagers, and never felt crowded. The cabin was far enough away from other cabins that the noise of having 10 teenagers wasn't a problem for anyone else. For other renters, here are some things...

Lovely break at Artesian lakes even though the weather was atrocious! We stayed in the Willam B Travis lodge, on first impressions it showed signs of wear and tear however we are camping so hey ho. Spacious cabin with 3 Large doubles bedrooms downstairs with 2 en suites and a large loft space with 4 singles. Kitchen with a large...

I brought my two kids here (ages 4 and 7) for 2 days in mid May 2016. When we arrived on Saturday there was a charity event going on and the place was completely over-run with people, but by Sunday it was much quieter. You may want to check their event schedule before booking, or ask if there are large...

I have been going to this resort all my life. When i was young, we would tent camp here every summer, back when it was allowed. Now my large extended family pitches in and we have stayed in a few of the gorgeous lodges, such as the Big Easy. BEAUTIFUL. And the swim lake is as fun as it was...

The resort is very good, very calm and peaceful. The cabin we booked overlooked the lake and we could see aligators from our patio. The swimming pool and horse rides are also good. You don't have much eating options other than the one in the resort so plan to pack and take food that you can cook there with you....

We stayed in one of the smallest cabins at The Retreat at Artesian Lakes and loved it. A natural lake with cool slides right next to a pool with a cave and water fall makes it the ultimate family fun in the summer. Horse back riding and carriage rides are offered for a fee. Listen to the silence of nature...

We go every year, and it is a wonderful family vacation for us, a time to unwind and be in the beauty of the woods. The rainbow pebble rocks that this area is famous for were mined here for years, are so beautiful and they are everywhere. The walking trails get us out in nature and are very enjoyable. The...

overall it was a great retreat with the family. there are plenty of activities to keep you busy on a weekend getaway. horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, fishing, disc golf, pool, and much more. the pool and slide into the lake is where i spent most my time soaking up the sun. the onsite grill by the pool surprisingly had pretty...

This was an overall great experience! It has many of the amenities of a traditional hotel (coffee maker in the room, bathroom amenities, free Wi-Fi, daily housekeeping, and reception area), but it is a rustic retreat. Don't go expecting a large chain style resort. We wanted the feeling of camping without actually camping, and these log cabins are perfect. We...

We had the opportunity for a spur of the moment vacation last week when our previous plans changed and we wanted something easy to arrange. We decided to revisit Chain-O-Lakes now known as The Retreat at Artesian Lakes. I called ahead and was prepared for the lack of cookware and other kitchen essentials (the cabin provides 4 plates, 4 cups,...
