At this lodge owned by Movie Director Francis Ford Coppola far into the west of the country of BELIZE and in the Mountains there, you are one on with nature. Thatched roof comfortable and clean accommodations provide you with a good nights rest. Chirping birds awaken you and Windows and doors are opened to the flora and fauna there. Some... More

Spent 3 nights. Wish it had been 5. They treat you right and you feel at home. We didn't see any bug issues but kept ourselves covered in spray. We arrived 2 days after a hurricane and the resort was almost empty but they made it perfect with an army of workers. We went to Tikal in Guatemala and it... More

The property itself is spectacular, though it is quite a way to get there on some really bumpy road. Our family with two kids and grand parents stayed at the two bedroom villa. The shared common area between the two rooms was open overlooking the river. Pros: Beautiful location Service was great Kid friendly The tours offered on site were... More

Thank you for your review- We try our best to have our property bug free- however, we are an environmentally friendly oriented resort. Regarding the road condition, the upgrading of the second road is on its way, this will surely cut down on travel time. More

We decided to take our kids (5, 8, and 13) on a vacation to Belize for the various neat outdoor activities that the country has to offer, and also to start exposing them to a vacation that is different from the typical U.S. beach trip or Disney. We found a travel agent online, Barbs Belize, who recommended this lodge as... More

We visited the Blancaneaux Lodge for our honeymoon! We loved every minute we were there! We stayed in the Enchanted Cottage. We had awesome service. Edman was extremely attentive, kind, and sincere! We enjoyed the amenities at the Lodge. Our cottage specifically had a private infinity pool! We also enjoyed our day excursions to a cave, maya ruins, waterfall, horseback... More

This place is stunning. Absolutely stunning. Went here for 1/2 my honeymoon (Turtle Lodge in Placencia was the other half) and never wanted to leave. I will say this five star review is based on my stay in Cabana #12 (it's the cabana in the photo with the infinity pool and the killer view). Originally, we were going to stay... More

We have just been to Blancaneaux Lodge and had one of the best times i have ever had. All the food was gorgeous and the staff could not do enough for you. The setting of the hotel was just out of this world and we went down the river in rubber dingys and went on a horse ride in the... More

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon here, and at Turtle Inn, a year after we got married. I canno speak highly enough about Blancaneaux Lodge and the wonderful experience that we had here! We visited in off season, so we basically had the resort to ourselves. We stayed in a luxury cabana, at the end of the resort, and... More

This was an amazing jungle oasis. The food was excellent. The views were amazing. We (myself, husband, son 20 and daughter 18) hiked to the Big Rock waterfall and it was such a great day. We would have made an entire day out of it, but didn't pack a lunch. If we had we would have been there all day.... More

This is a belated review. We stayed at the Blancaneaux in November 2015. Our four nights there made our trip to Belize very special. On hindsight, we should have booked a longer stay. If you are considering how to split your time between this and other locations or lodges in Belize, my advice is to choose to stay longer in... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the early 1980s, Francis Ford Coppola visited Belize, immediately fell in love with the location, and purchased the abandoned Blancaneaux Lodge. For more than a decade the resort was used as a family retreat before Francis opened his tropical paradise to the public in 1993. Tucked away in a pocket of the Maya Mountains, Blancaneaux Lodge is a 20-room luxury resort where waterfalls tumble into turquoise pools above the jungle canopy. Its remote mountain setting makes it a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. ... more   less
