Texas to the core! Larry, Chris, and Josh made this one of the most memorable experiences ever! My mother and I went with four young kids and a teenager and everyone had a great time! The family offered genuine Texas hospitality complete with the joking and teasing! From the horseback riding (Thanks again, Josh - my personal cowboy!) to feeding...

The people who own this property claim it to be rustic. Unfortunetly, I live in an area with lots of rustic cabins for rent which are beautiful. My friend and I came here for the fitness. What a huge disappointment!! The gym is a complete joke, the accomodations are awful and there is almost no organization. Everything is filthy. Definitely...

This person did not stay at our ranch, participate in any activities, or meet any trainers. She cancelled the day of her trip, and received a credit for the deposit instead of the refund she demanded. Mary Cortez

We went this past weekend for a day-trip & 2-hour horseback ride. The front desk did not answer the phone first try, but returned my email request within 2 hours. I called them three days in advance to schedule the trip and they accomodated us. Ranch is run by a dad and his two sons. The price was $35 per...

My husband and I went to Rancho Cortez for an hour trail ride. I showed up as a nervous wreck (afraid of animals & height) but the Cortez sons (and fellow guests at the Ranch) really made an effort in calming me down and saddling me up with the right horse. They truly do have that genuine Southern hospitality. A...

First of all, if you are looking for a state-of-the-art spa or luxurious accommodations look elsewhere. The rooms are rustic but comfortable. The food is ample and homestyle. Most likely you will have to walk up the road to get cell phone reception, and go to the fitness lounge or dining room to get on the internet. There are no...

Two week boot camp. 5 1/4 pounds lost. Many inches gone. Diabetes: blood sugar down 20 points. Fabulous hiking, riding lessons and fitness program. A family run ranch - they embrace you as one of the family. Worked hard. Dedicated, caring, professional. It's about the people...not the business. Do not hesitate.

This was an excellent long weekend getaway in Bandera Texas. A ranch that offers everything. Located In the spectacular hills of Bandera County Rancho Cortez offered an relaxing and exilerating ranching experience. We rode all day everyday as the ranch was quiet the few days we were there, it gets busier at peak times. We spent hours in the arean...

Had a family vacation at Ranchero Cortez and everyone ( 2 teens and a 10 year old) had a great time. We stayed for four days and that seemed to be the perfect amount of time. Cabins are air conditioned and clean. Be advised there is no cell phone signal which was O.K. with us. This is also a ranch...

Every year we try to take one big family trip and this year we spent two weeks traveling around Texas, with the grand finale being the Rancho Cortez. The "fun" standard was set pretty high as the last two years we have done Yellowstone and Hawaii. Our kids, ages 7 and 9, put it perfectly, "This trip was the best...

Went with a group of my girlfriends. We had a most enjoyable time. Larry was a hoot and did everything to make us feel at home. The horses were well taken care of and the trail rides were a treat. Remember this is a dude ranch, not a leisure hotel. I grew up in Texas and have been to several...
