We had a fun half day visit. The two adults had never rode a horse and our 13 year old only had a few times. But they were great at handling this. Dinner, brisket the day we were there was tasty. Larry is a riot but totally not politically correct. While he is a true cowboy I did take off...

We're very happy your family had a great time riding around our ranch and enjoying the brisket dinner. We apologize if any of our humor was off-putting to you, and we're very sorry if the smoking bothered you. Please never feel shy to tell us these things in person. We want all of our guests to feel at home, so...

Larry, his family, staff, and friends went out of their way to help us spend quality time with our terminally ill nephew. It has definitely been an experience we will never forget. They became our family as they shared our joy in fulfilling our nephew’s wish. We will forever treasure every moment of this beautiful place. They went above and...

This is a true RANCH, with all that you would expect, and more. Beautiful Texas hills and skies, along with many well cared for animals, cabins, meals, activities and all amenites in general were fantastic. Nonetheless, what really makes this place special are its people, from its owner to the kitchen staff and everyone in between. They went above and beyond...

Please plan on a day trip at least. We arrived at 10 am. Went on two horse rides (1 hour each time), fed longhorns, had lunch and dinner, saw a trick roper, the boys learned how to throw a rope, and had a bonfire with a real life guitar man under the stars. IT WAS AWESOME. Mr. Cortez interacts with...

We had a wonderful time at rancho Cortez , the location is fantastic with nothing but nature to disturb you. Also the close by town of Bandera is worth a visit. We stayed 4 days and had a great time, our 3 year old loved the freedom of the outdoors while my wife and I enjoyed the horse riding and...

The atmosphere that was created by the Check-in Host, the Wranglers, the Rrooms and Room Service and especially the Cafeteria Personnel far exceeded all my expectations. There was a large crowd of guests at the time of my visit, but I was treated as if I were the only guest at the ranch. The activities were fun, entertaining unusual for me...

Guys the drive from Austin to the ranch is so gorgeous I could have just done that over and over again! Ranch life is great...the experience we had away from kids is exactly what we needed. Not overcrowded, amazing food -- that was healthy!!! I didn't know you could make country-cook in' healthy! I felt like I was on a...

"Cortez for life!" just might be our new battle cry, Brian! We're so glad you and your wife had a great time getting away from the city to stay at our ranch. It's wonderful you enjoyed our well-trained horses and the beautiful scenery the Texas hill country has to offer. Thank you so much for all of your support. We...

I am going to write this comment in English so it is understood by the majority including the owners. As a group of 4 very excited about our visit to a Texan ranch, we have been nothing short of disappointed by Rancho Cortez. We had initially planned a half-day dude ranch visit, extending it to a full day due to...

First things first, we'd like to say: Safety of both our riders and our horses is a top priority. For this reason, we train our horses to fit all skill levels, and we require that each rider wears a helmet. There should be helmets available for each person, and we can always accommodate riders' needs to find one that fits....

I attended a 2 week “boot camp” session at Rancho in August of this year. It truly was a life-changing experience. I was completely out of shape and had not exercised regularly for over 20 years.
