DAD: My daughters are accomplished riders, my wife rides casually, and I prefer to hike. We each found our experience to be everything we expected, and more. Our cabin was comfortable and clean, the ranch was beautiful and peaceful, the horses healthy and friendly, and the barn manager (Makayla) was friendly and great with the kids. I chose HCEL because...

What a wonderful experience. The riding was fantastic and the entire staff made our stay very enjoyable. The view from the Molly North cabin was so relaxing and we really loved the rustic layout. We are already making plans with friends to return to HCEL as soon as possible.

We stayed in a rustic, fully equipped, cabin located in a private setting. The refrigerator was filled with breakfast items. The baths had fluffy towels and spa soaps. No TV and no wi-fi helped us disconnect and imagine what life was like in earlier times. There were numerous trails for hiking and horseback at the lodge and neighboring park. Diane,...

Stayed for 5 days at the Lodge with my 7-year old daughter, who loves horses. We had the most amazing time, one of the best vacations we've ever taken. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing, with the horses grazing freely outside the cabins. Great place to get back to nature and enjoy a simpler, more quiet lifestyle. The real...

One of my favorite places to relax and enjoy nature and the intimacy of family: LITTLE TO NO CELL SERVICE AND NO TV!!! Yeah!!! Which means we all get to know each other again. This, coupled with natural beauty and friendly and helpful hosts makes for the perfect getaway! And did I mention you get to do all of this...

Spending time on the ranch felt like going back in time. Our family stayed in the Lindig cabin and loved it! The design of the cabin with fire place in the central room and large front porch added to the decor of the trip. The ranch trails were fun to explore and the Hill Country State Natural Area was right...

This is the perfect place for trail riders who want to bring and ride their own horses in a state park, but who do not want to camp out. This ranch is so beautiful and is adjacent to the Hill Country State Natural Area. Riders go through only one gate to get into the park – so easy! And also,...

Hill Country Equestrian Lodge is a wonderful place to go with a family. We came here for a week with our 2 girls, ages 5 and 8. The cabins are very well appointed and include a dishwasher in the kitchen. We enjoy cooking our meals on the property using the grills that are provided. We also go into town for...

HCEL is a lovely, quiet, low-key spot where the horses – and the cat and dog – are well loved, well cared for, and virtually free roaming. The staff take the horses’ well being very seriously and take much care and consideration in the matching of riders to horses, provision of instruction to riders as needed, and meeting riders requests....

My wife and I couldn't have been more pleased or treated any better. Beautiful Texas hill country, a quiet, restful ranch, lovely cabin with no frills but everything one could want (except TV and Wifi which we specifically didn't want!). Our own campfire under the stars at night. The horses were top notch and the trail rides excellent. The horse...
