The room was clean and was ready earlier than promised. I appreciated the large pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower, and the pump bottle of hand soap in the lavatory. The ice machine was close by. The room was very quiet; we could not hear our neighbors at all. We were given a bag of goodies at time of check-in: cookies, snack bars, and chips. This was helpful for us since we were hiking the next day. The hotel is convenient to several restaurants and is only miles from Cade's Cove. We did not have to deal with the heavy traffic of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in order to enjoy the Smoky Mtns. Great place to stay.

Wasn’t able to check in at scheduled time of 4:00 pm. I was told that my room wouldn’t be ready until 7:00 pm. No apologies or comps of any kind offered. Totally unprofessional establishment. I’d look for other options if I were you. Owner stated that my only option was to cancel my reservation.

I really liked this quaint but modernized Inn & felt very comfortable staying there by myself for the 1st Bigfoot festival. The rooms are clean & secure, bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked great & the brown bag of snacks given upon arrival was much appreciated! The fire pit near the pool was a bonus & I was chilling by it when the Chrome Angels ladies biker group came to hang out, too (so entertaining & I saw they left a review before mine), too. Everything about this place had a personal touch, so I’d classify it as a “boutique hotel” which I much prefer over the usual chain hotels where everything looks the same. I’ll definitely be back & refer others as well.

We had a great time at Townsend Gateway Inn. We were in town for a Motorcycle riding event with our Ladies from Chrome Angelz. The staff and owners of Townsend Gateway Inn are excellent people. Helped with a cook out we had and it was great. Large very clean and modern rooms. We will be back to stay soon.

This motel is without a doubt the "greenest" place at which I have stayed. Soaps, shampoo, conditioner, etc., are in refillable pump containers permanently mounted on the bathroom walls. Coffee cups are porcelain, not plastic. Drinking cups are glass, not plastic. There is even a bin in the room for recycling glass, aluminum, and paper. A very good choice for the environmentally aware traveler.
