My suite was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The space was large and beautifully furnished; the bed was very comfortable. The staff needs hospitality training. When a guest arrives and says "hi I'm here to check in" you need to immediately look up flash a huge smile and say "welcome!" Instead the girl at the desk continued to look down at...

I have eaten here several times; because there isn’t anywhere else (small town). The food is average on its best day and can be over cooked sometimes. If you’re in a large party order something that can sit in the window or on the tray a while or it might be cold by the time it gets to you. If you...

We arrived right when they opened at 4:30 pm, the rib eye was not available out of 7 entree choices. We asked for the bleu cheese chips and got (Great Valuue?!) saltines?, The alternative beef I ordered was tough, the asparagus was cold. The waitress was unknowledgeable and less then congenial. A terrible experience. We were first time customers, celebrating...

Very friendly staff and interesting restorations. The sound insulation leave much to be desired. Although the town is on the quiet, sleepy side; the overnight noise from the street outside was disturbing. The breakfast was fair - at best.

We spent the weekend here while attending the NASCAR race in Bristol. The room was beautiful and the staff was fantastic, esp the front desk staff. We had a great dinner on Friday evening in the bar. My husband especially loved the fresh cookies available on the second floor in the middle of the night! Be prepared that while you...

This was an impromptu visit for us. We arranged to have dinner, see separate review. However, we loved the elegance of this property so asked if they had a room available. We were absolutely delighted and stayed in the Rogan room. It was beautiful, comfortable charming and spotless. As we were late arrivals I was able to negotiate an improved...

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday and Monday night. On Sunday we were the only guests but on Mondy, the place was full. We stayed in the Rogers room on the 3rd floor. Overall the property is well maintained and clean. Parking is around back. There is plenty of room in the dining room. McKinneys Tavern which is...

This is a tough review to write because I do not want anyone to not go to HSI because of this review. It's a neat place - just needs to management improvement. First, be well aware this is not a bed and breakfast really. It's really an old stagecoach inn and therein lies the charm and character. Don't expect a...

First let me start with the positives. My wife and I thought the Hale Springs Inn was charming. Nice décor with a lot of Old World style. We found the hotel to be clean and all the staff we interacted with was friendly. I read some of the other reviews that stated that the food service was slow, we did...

We stayed Friday and Saturday nights in May. My first thought while walking in was "we're coming back". The experience over our stay only strengthened that thought. We might have been the only customers Friday night (if so, what WERE those noises in the hallway about 2:00 AM? :) ) and the doors were open to all the rooms. They...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Inn was originally built in 1824 by John McKinney, a local lawyer and businessman. During the nineteenth century, the Inn played host to many famous personages as they made their way into the thriving new state of Tennessee. Among them were United States Presidents Andrew Jackson, James K. Polk, and Andrew Johnson. When the inn closed in 1998 it was Tennessee's oldest continuously operated inn. In 2003 the Rogersville Heritage Association purchased the inn and, in cooperation with city government, launched a renovation effort which surpassed $2.1 million. The inn reopened in 2009 and continues to be a gleaming example of the rich history found in Rogersville, TN. Hale Springs Inn boasts 9 gorgeous guest rooms, massage services on site, as well as McKinney's Restaurant & Tavern. The restaurant offers a competitively-priced menu with a focus on fresh, local ingredients and creative twists on traditional southern fare. ... more   less
