We are here two nights. The first night I ordered a horrible tasting bratwurst that you wouldn't want to see again. The second night (I gave them another chance) was better. Not a bad steak. Decor is basic but probably to be expected. Drinks were well overpriced even for an alpine location. I wouldn't go back unless desperate.

I stayed here with my partner on a Groupon deal which was extremely good value for money. We enjoyed the communal environment and meeting others. We also enjoyed having the pool tables to ourselves as the pub beneath the rooms is closed in the off season. Building is obviously quite old and floor is quite creaky but this didn't keep...

I stayed in the dorm at the end of the ski season for 3 nights midweek. I had the 6 bed dorm to myself. The property is older and feels a little run down. But the bunks are comfortable and the dorm is a good size. Positives - very cheap on snow accommodation by Australian standards - linen packs include...

Stayed at the Alpine Hotel yet again and everything was just perfect as always. We get a triple room with it's own ensuite, fridge, tv and a common room for all guests with tea, coffee, microwave, etc. weekends there's usually a band or DJ. Extremely affordable. As far as the rest of the resort goes Baw Baw is the most...

We purchased a groupon deal at $55 a night, and for the price, thought it was fantastic value. Our double room was small and basic, but clean enough. The tv was a bit high but a bonus for a room like this. The kitchen was clean and the staff were very friendly. Probably the worst aspect of the flashpackers was...

We stayed mid week, before the ski season. The bedroom could not be any smaller, but there is a small ensuite. The room and bedding were clean and comfortable. The bed was long enough for this 190 cm tall reviewer. We only used the bedroom as a base to walk in the National Park (such as to Mt St Gwinear...

We simply used this as a base hotel before our hike. Rooms were a bit on the small & warm side but it was fine for one night. The shower was powerful and bathroom small but clean. Me and the wife Barbara would use it again as we'd like to try another hike around the spectacular Mt. Baw Baw. Just...

I wish now that I read the other reviews before buying a groupon for this "romantic" accommodation. We were quite expecting basic accommodation for the price paid, but it was disappointing on being told when booking, that the room was above the bar and night-club and the music could go to 2am. I feel that that detail could and should...

I stayed four nights in one of the 'Flashpackers' double rooms in December 2013, paying $70 per night. As others have said, this is a room that just manages to fit a double bed, and with an ensuite just wide enough to fit a shower. A bit like being in a caravan. Definitely not a room for claustrophobes! When I...

“Some rooms have double beds [I had one of those]. The 3-person rooms, which are the same physical size as the doubles [I peeked], have a hybrid metal bunk-bed thing with a double on the bottom and a single above. Even more like a caravan than the doubles. The backpacker room has three bunks with six beds, plus ensuite, and looks a bit roomier.”
