The house itself is lovely with a beautiful view in a gorgous area. A communal kitchen and cosy veranda brought back the old backpacker feeling.
The rooms were basic and cold and not comfortable for us.
Karbeethong Lodge is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the lakes at Mallacoota. I really enjoyed my stay: sitting on the verandah in the morning eating the delicious breakfast (muesli with home-cooked apples, currants and very yummy yoghurt), walking the lakeshore, watching the evening sky...More
A fantastic find in beautiful Mallacoota. A step back in time. This was our 3rd visit and we love more each time.
Thanks to our wonderful host and we look forward to returning again....very soon.

Received a nice welcome from Russell. This place is beautifully positioned atop of lawns overlooking the Mallacoota estuary/river. It has a relaxed, colonial feel to it with a really calm ambience. The bedroom was a little small but very adequate. The lodge catering and laundry...More
My wife and I stayed overnight at the Lodge. Overall we really enjoyed our short stay as it was an ideal location right above one of the beautiful Mallacoota lakes. The place was built early in the 1900s and has been retained in original style...More

No, part of the beauty of the place is that it doesn't have TV/Foxtel and you don't miss it. In fact, that is one of the things that make it special. The Guests actually talk to each other and the kids do things they normally wouldn't such as board games, card games, reading etc rather than sitting in front of "the Box" and not communicating. Don't take the lack of having a TV as a negative, it's actually a positive. There is a great little pub in town, a picture theatre and your days will be relaxing exploring the beaches, lakes area, bushwalking or just lazing on the front verandah taking in the views.
You'll enjoy your stay.
