Wow from the moment we arrived it was beautiful. Hidden away enough to feel isolated but still close to pop into Halls Gap if you needed anything. We stayed in the log cabin and the views were amazing while sitting by an open fire. No it isn't fancy furniture as others have mentioned but it is suited to the cabin...

i hesitate to give such a low rating, but it is one i think is fair. as a bit of background, i settled on the grampians pioneer cottages when my first choice in the area (dulc) did not permit one-night stays. reading the reviews, i went with the pioneer cottages because of its setting (outside of town), privacy and how...

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend away, friendly welcoming owners, rooms are clean, the fire was a great touch to the cottage adding the warm feeling at night. Did not use cooking facilities in cabin, but all seemed in working order. Easy access to town and bush walks

Very welcoming rustic cottages. Basic accommodation that lends itself to have the whole family with you. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings , being able to have an open fire and just have simple home cooked meals. Life in the seventies was not glam but functional especially if you appreciate that these cottages were built from recycled materials. Suggestion .. A...

Thank you Rhondalil for your fantastic review. Great to hear that you enjoyed the ambiance of the cottages and their nod to a bygone era. The open fire places lend themselves to creating a homely feel that most modern accommodation can't match. Since taking over we are in a process of upgrading the cottages whilst retaining the 'Pioneer' feel and...

We were with a family with young kids and they loved the place. It has everything you need. We stayed at the Mudbrick house. This house has a room with 2 bunks, and a room with a queen on ground level. 1 more room with a queen on upper floor. There is no heating, so you need to use the...

Visiting for one night through the Grampians. Coreen was very welcoming and even got some complimentary eggs for breakfast from the dead by chickens. The cottage itself was charming and rustic, but very comfortable. A few features could do with updating. Great outside area overlooking the zoo and plenty of space for kids to roam. Has a great fireplace too...

The RedGum cottage is very near to Halls Gap but very far away of the touristic stress. The surroundings are stunning and breathtaking. The kangooroos at morning time during breakfast together with the views of the hills has made an everlasting impression in our souls.
